This wait for the Star Trek Blu Ray feels like waiting for a great game to come out.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Co-sign. Star Trek probably won't come close to the sales of either Transformer movies, but it should be one of the best blu rays of the year....EASILY.

Not so sure about this. Star Trek has alot of older trek fans (like me) who didn't see it in the theater (also like me, mainly because I'm not a fan of the theater experience much anymore because of rude people beside you and I have a 52 HDTV with surround sound so movies sound and look better on my TV then the theater all in the comfort of my own home with much cheaper and better tasting popcorn).

I think it will be one of the biggest sellers of the year and be right up there with Transformers.

My parents and I can't wait for Star Trek to drop...can't wait to watch it again, and it's been a while since I've been itching to watch something again.

Also alot of people I know who aren't trek fans, especially women, want to see this movie now because you don't have to be trekkie to enjoy it (which they thought) because it's a reboot and they heard good things about it.

Re: **Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread Part II**

GoHastings.com is having their 30% off used BD sales again. I bought 12 movies for $105.90 (that's with the shipping price included).

              I got:

              Death Race
              The Uninvited
              Into the Wild
              Wedding Crashers
              Eagle Eye
              Office Space
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
              Wanted
              Role Models
              Valkyrie
              Fast & Furious
              The Bank Job

Despite my dislike for Wanted, Eagle Eye, and Fast & Furious, I still feel their cheap prices were well worth it.

Well I know I will watch them, I just don't "like" them, if that makes sense. Plus, I know other people will want to watch them. I'd rather watch a movie with other people than a movie by myself, regardless of the movie.

But yeah, I mean if they equate to the price of a meal, hell why not? They're beautiful to look at!

Oh, plus it helped reduce the price of shipping... sort of. In a way, I'm getting more bang for my buck with the other movies I do like by including these other movies on the list.

I don't know about the US but in Canada you can trade those blurays for a minimum $10 credit each at blockbuster here so at least you got that.

Not a bad deal if you spend money at Blockbuster. Can probably get more trading them online, paypal or amazon gift cards.

That's true. I mean there's a difference between not liking a movie and not liking a movie, if that makes sense. I didn't like Wanted, Eagle Eye, or Fast & Furious because they did some things that I just didn't approve of in the movie. Normally it would be trying to throw in some comedy that made me cringe or lousy CGI. It was almost like the movies would embarrass me in some ways. But it's not like I don't like the movies like I don't like... say... boring mother-s.

Not really sure if that made sense. At least these ones provide some form of entertainment and will work my system that leaves a lot to be desired as is.

I gotcha. I have a few "bad" movies in my collection that are soley there because they have great audio and video quality that I got on the cheap ($11 or less). I've been cutting back on those impulse buys though since getting netflix again.
