    IT'S HERE!!!!!

I just hooked up the new sub real quick and didn't really do much tweaking. Tried out The Dark Knight, Transformers, and Cloverfield.

Holy crap .. this thing is incredible. Keep in mind, I've never had a decent sub before, so I'm obviously a little overly ecstatic here.

First off, it's huge. I'll attach a picture in a bit comparing it to my old sub. It weighs about 90 pounds. It's too big for me to actually get my arms around it and carry myself. The box it came in wouldn't fit through the door. Had to cut it open and carry it in. Set it up, hooked up the cables, and went for a run.

    Transformers:

The first scene with the rumble of the helicopter .. jaw dropping. The attack on the base .. then I went straight to the scene where Ironhide does the sweep and flips over the girl in slow motion. My whole house shook.

    Cloverfield:

The very beginning of the movie where it's just the 'footsteps' ... incredible bass. The scene where the military attacks the monster. THIS CREATED A BREEZE ... started blowing around papers that were lying on the floor.

    The Dark Knight:

Just went straight to the hospital blowing up. Wow. We've got a little bar down here and all the alcohol starting shaking. My friend went outside as he was leaving and I replayed it. He heard it loud and clear, and my window was apparently shaking like crazy.

All in all, with only about half an hour of listening to it, I'm very very pleased. So incredibly worth it to me. This thing has blown me away already!

Ghostbusters on blu ray is a must own for fans. Can't believe how well this transfer turned out considering it's age.

Right now I'm watching JCVD. Will update this post when done watching.

      Didn't like JCVD.

Congrats, thaima1shu. I'm jealous as ever.

I would go for a great sub, but I'd need a great receiver to go with it. Right now everything is from my HTiB. I'll upgrade in maybe five-ish years when I have the money to.

Just upgrade each piece overtime. Top 3 in priority: Receiver > Center > Sub The rears are least important.

Thanks. It's really an awesome, awesome sub. Makes movies much more enjoyable. Amazing what a difference a good sub can make.

Nah, I don't really mind it at all. Makes no difference to me really. Kinda like it, quite honestly

I got Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Indiana Jones (the 4th one) at Blockbuster previously viewed for 25 bucks...

Lots of trash movies there too that I wouldn't buy, but considering most blu-rays are 20-30 new I'll probably try and pick up ones cheaper from there...Took them a little while but nice they're selling the blu-rays now too. Always would pick up 4 for 20 on regular dvd's, great way to augment your collection.

I don't mind buying blu rays used due to the scratch resistant coating. I don't touch used DVDs though, especially those from a rental store where people have no incentive to take care of them.

I picked up Step Brothers and Forbidden Kingdom from the Blockbuster 2 for $25.

Yeah, I also grabbed Forgetting Sarah Marshall used from Blockbuster on their deal but the other one I bought was Step Brothers. Its a pretty good deal and while they had some terrible movies they also had some decent ones as well.

Yeah I don't pay full price for BDs anymore, unless it's a "must-have" like Gladiator. The Blockbuster 2 for $25 is a good deal if they have ones you want. I usually buy them on Amazon for really cheap. I found At World's End and Talladega Nights each for $12 including shipping!

The Dirty Harry boxset is Amazon's Deal of the Day for $57. I might have to jump on this.
