GC, the version I linked is the International Version, which is the long version of the film.

The US Version is the shorter version.

That was going for either $17 or $7 for both last week depending on if Toys R Us let you used...2 $10 rebates or all 4 (2 $10 and 2 $5 ones)

Well crap. I could have gotten it from someone for $19 shipped. Thought it was the shorter version. Guess I'll have to put it in my Netflix queue.

I rented Up In the Air for my parents over my Spring Break, but I was only able to show it to my mom and grandpa because my dad was in the hospital for nearly a week (has to go back in tomorrow, in fact). Because they loved it so much and they feel my dad should see it sometime over the summer, my mom got me the Blu-ray for Easter.

            Hey, it works!

I'm on the fence about buying Up in the Air for $15. Like it, but my blu ray limit is $13 a flick.

EDIT: Decided to pre-order The Thomas Crown Affair instead. Amazon has price matched Best Buys $11.99 price....i get free 2 day shipping with Prime (no taxes of course)

Anyone picking up Lord of the Rings this week? I`m thinking about even though it`s not the extended versions. I think Best Buy has it for only $59.99

I thought about it but Im going to wait and hope they release the extended versions down the road. I got burned the first time around by buying the theatrical versions of all 3 movies so Im not going to do that again. If you do buy it though I would be curious to hear feedback on the picture quality.

A double dip on those is a 99.9% certainty. Which means the current version will be much cheaper at that time.

Yeah but it's like buying computers, you can keep waiting for it to get cheaper but when it does you still want the faster newer one. The same with LOTR, these versions will get cheaper but then you'll want the EE because it's newer and have something that the old versions don't.

I would only wait that long if you really have no intention of watching them anytime soon and just like seeing them on the shelf which for many of us happens to be half the BR's we buy.

Or you could just Netflix 'em to get them out of your system. Then save the $60 towards the more complete release.

Touche but then you don't get the lossless audio with netflix (at least I don't think you can unless I'm mistaken) which to me is more important than the video and apparently the LOTR has killer audio. Luckily I'm not into the LOTR films because it would be a hard decision of whether I should get it now.
