Already did and it's worth a download(I say that because I don't buy albums).

There's been some good R&B albums to come out this year I will say that.

Yea I thought Ne-Yo's album was decent. You get exactly what you expect.

Anyways there are some good songs these days but my one complaint about the genre these days is that most of the guys all sound the same. It's not even really all that great singing either. That's not to say they don't have talent because they do it's just that it's so cookie cutter. I also miss using, you know real instruments. I mean soul music shouldn't be pre-packaged IMO.

Exactly, its getting harder and harder to say "damn, that's a really good R&B song" these days
Exactly. True R&B/Soul/Funk(the music I grew up listening to during the 60s & 70s) is dead. All I hear now bimbos(or himbos) wailing over beats I heard in college. Where's the singing, songwriting and musicianship?

THIS is what I mean by Soul...

R. Kelly's new Love Letter album comes out December 14. I'm definitely going to be picking this up.

Man, I'm so disappointed in MJ's latest album. I had low expectations and this record didn't even meet them.

I will say Behind The Mask is among the best MJ songs that has EVER put out. Much Too Soon is a great song as well. The song with Lenny Kravitz is not bad.

Everything else ranges from mediocre to downright terrible (Breaking News, Hollywood Tonight). I don't even think some of the vocals are Jackson's.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

Well i've listened to a majority of R. Kelly's LOVE LETTER album. I have to give this a favorable review. There are definite stinkers in there but the songs that are good are very effective. "When a woman loves" sounds like Otis Redding. "radio message" has a quasi James Brown feel to it. "music must be a lady" is the strongest track IMO as R. Kelly takes the instrumental track of Marvin Gaye's "just to keep you satisfied" and made it all his own with his own lyrics. "Taxi Cab" is evocative of Michael Jackson and finally "how do I tell her" is hard for me to put my finger on but it reminds me of something from the '50s.

Strangely, the title track was pretty bland and "number one hit" just didn't have the right feel to it IMO.

I agree with everything you've said regarding this album. I don't mind "Love Letter" though, it's a decent track.

There are some songs that I have no problem skipping.

"Taxi Cab" is probably my favorite song on the album.

After listening to it all the way through twice now, overall I like it. It focuses more on his voice rather than his sexual innuendoes on this album, which is good, but certain points could have actually used some crazy lyric instead of what he put on it.

Tank might just be my favorite R&B artist. This album is one you need to download and it is the best thing to come out in a while...

I purchased 3 cd's in the last month and Tank's is by far the best. He nailed it with this album.

Was there a more underrated female R&B artist in the 90s? More than likely, yeah, but y'all let me know who. The talented and oh my damn fine Chante Moore:

She really did this cover of Minnie Ripperton's "Inside My Love" justice.
