Re: Ok im late I know The Wire
SpoilerYes, but that doesn't mean it had to be done like that. Im not a fan of how his death was written; It was random as hell. His ending didn't seem worth it after 5 seasons invested with the man. It let me down as a big Omar fan.Comment

Ahhh, didn't know you were a big Omar fan.
I can see why that would disappoint you though.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Ok im late I know The Wire
I was but then going thru Season 4 made me develop a bigger appreciation for Marlo where I bumped him to #1 over Omar as far as favorite characters go.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Ok im late I know The Wire
I'd rank Stringer, Marlo, Bunk and Bodie all before Omar on my list of favorite characters.Comment

Re: Ok im late I know The Wire
From the street, my favorites thus far have been Stringer, Bodie (who's development has been amazing), and Omar. Marlo hasn't done much through the end of season 3, but I will say there's an eerie, calmness that surrounds him and makes him seem a lot bigger than what he is (or appears to be thus far).
Police has to be between Bunk and Freamon.

No way I could even begin to rank ALL the characters against each other.

I'd go with Omar, Marlo, Bodie, Chris as my favorite street people.
Bunk has to be my favorite police, but McNulty was always entertaining to me.Comment

Re: Ok im late I know The Wire
Not a big Marlo guy. His two goons were fun for a while but damn Snoop had me rewinding the tape to understand what she was saying.
One of my least favorite characters was Dookie. And I dont get all the hoopla for Bubbles.Comment

Re: Ok im late I know The Wire
I like Bubbles. He destroys himself, but I feel like he wants to better/help those around him most of the time. That walk through Hamsterdam at night was scary ****.

Favorite show next to Lost .. Everything about it is stunning.
Choosing a favorite character would be impossible
Avon- loved everything about him..his humor, his drive to maintain what he saw as, his stubbornness, his respect of "the game"
Stringer- cold and calculated...his 40 degree day speech still leaves me on the floor, smart ..maybe even to smart for his own good..thought he could play with the big boys downtown
Bodie - a true soldier .. I hated him in season one for the obvious reason, but as the show progresses you cant help but start to really respect him
Slim Charles - an underrated favorite
Chris Partlow - another soldier.***thless, but you see a side of him with Michael where you can see where most of his rage comes from
Cheese - lol ..what can I say
Michael - really felt for this kid.. Trying hard to be the man of the house while his mom was strung out .. His dad ..well you know , I rooted for him and dookie to rise up and get out of the hood
Jimmy and bunk - my comedy duo ..these guys are guys I would have loved to go to the bar with
Like I said too many to pick and thats leaving off a whole lot

Re: Ok im late I know The Wire
SpoilerOne of the extras on the DVD box set is a Q&A with some cast, writers, etc. and that was one of the questions asked. I don't remember the exact quote but the sentiment was that it was to show the audience that Omar was no "hero" and in the street anyone can die anytime... just a part of the game.
Funny enough, the actor that shot Omar was one of the actors that were "playing Omar" after the street shootout in Season 3.Comment

Really?
And I agree in that Slim was underrated as well.#RespectTheCultureComment
