    Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Your last point is interesting as far as more fans identifying more with her than Megan. What makes you say that though?

I mean outside of their physical appearance, which most fans don’t care about regardless of who’s more natural/fake, they’re both dealing with the same issues as every other woman, especially black women.

Meg scooped up the college+ crowd like a female J Cole. I think at my age people are still going out partying and close enough to either being in school or just having finished it that way more people I know listen to and love Meg, she's like my girl and her friends new favorite artist, they find Lizzo annoying. Anecdotal, but I don't know anyone who listens to Lizzo.

Side note, I need a new Joey Bada$$ album. Listening to B4.DA.$$ and I forgot how much I liked this album, especially Paper Trails, he needs more Premier beats.

I was just listening to 1999 over the weekend.

That tape is such a vibe, man.

The song that came to mind while I was typing that was "Like a Girl" where she said "Buy my whip by myself, pay my rent by myself
Only exes that I care about are in my ****ing chromosomes
I don't really need you, I'm Macaulay Culkin, home alone"

IMO, this hits different coming from a woman who doesn't fit within conventional beauty standards. Most notable female emcees fit into the mold of big chest, flat stomach, thin waist, big ***. Most females do not fit into this mold. I get the vibe that there are more that identify with Lizzo, being outside of the realm of "desirable." Lizzo has become a spokesperson for them as she's done what they continually struggle with doing, embracing and celebrating their differences.

Singles were immaculate so the fear was there but Griselda came through anyway, Benny can't miss.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

My top 10 most played is skewed because there's songs that run 4 and a half minutes that I'm turning off after I hear the verse/part I want but overall I guess it balances.

                Wit It - Gunna
                Drunk - ScHoolboy Q and 6lack
                Eastside - Wiz & Curren$y
                Blame - Travis Scott
                Gloria - Tierra Whack
Girls Need Love Remix - Summer Walker and Drake
                Song 31 - Noname
                Colbert - Pivot Gang
Numb Numb Juice - ScHoolboy Q
                Gat Damn - Freddie Gibbs

My Apple Music replay says I listened to 164 artists this year, top 5 being Benny (58 hours), Westside Gunn (43 hours), Freddie Gibbs (24 hours), Drake (24 hours), Sheff G (20 hours). I've also got 20 hours of Madlib which should probably be rolled in with Gibbs, 18 hours of Curren$y and Conway. Tana Talk 3 has twice as many plays as the second most played album.

Roddy Ricch's album is pretty decent. I really like Tip Toe but I can't stand A Boogie. There's maybe 3 songs in existence with A Boogie that I can listen to.

May Store off WWCD might be my song of the year, the bass is just stupid low. It starts out low and just keeps getting lower, might be my favorite track with all 3 members on it.

It's got me thinking what's the hardest instrumental of all time...and why is it Whoa by Black Rob?

Trying to figure out the hardest instrumental of all time would take me DAYS lol.

I know it would be something from the 90s/2000s but I may just do it since it would be fun.

Nick said some things on TI pod cast about him and then Em responded on his verse in Lord Above.

Word? A Boogie is actually one of my favorite of the new school rappers lol.

Whoa is definitely up there for me but at least 3 Mobb Deep beats immediately come to mind.
