It's a shame his rhymes aren't as good as his people skills. He's one well connected dude.

Can someone please explain to me the success of Kid Cudi? I know he's had some catchy club /radio tracks but i am yet to hear any song that suggests he is anything more than mediocre lyrically.

Well if you go in expecting dope rhymes with Cudi then you're going to be disappointed. I don't mind Cudi at all but I can agree that he isn't that great.

Rick Ross just realized that he could rhyme "Ross" with "Bawse" and somehow parlayed that into a rap career.

That happens because the bar is set pretty low. TRL was the downfall of the music industry. Actual musical talent is no longer a prerequisite for a music career.

We have complete opposite taste in rap

That's why there are countless genres to choose from.

It applies to many things in life. People out there like fat chicks, brussel sprouts, and nascar...hey whatever works for them.
