Really looking forward to Phonte's new album.

Regarding Wale, it seems like More about Nothing was his best work. He hasn't been on that level with his recent work. Sad too, because I thought he was on to something.

Mixtape about Nothing and More about Nothing.

Cole is one of my favorite rappers, but he's not what a lot of people build him up to be. Him and Wale are like neck and neck to me.

and when will people realize people have different tastes when it comes to hip-hop and not chastise them for it. Half the time I don't even know who the people in this thread are talking about and doubt I could sit down and listen to them, but I won't hate them for liking that. Wasn't that the point of hip-hop/rap in the first place?

Personally I love Cole. I mean damn, I have over 100 of his songs on my iPod and there really hasn't been a song of his I've hated yet. I could really only say the same for Pac and maybe early Kanye (College Dropout-Late Registration).

I can understand why not everyone loves him though. I think something that holds him back is his beats and hooks at times. Again, personally I like them, but he's not on an elite producing level and he isn't exactly a prime 50 or any other "hook master" you want to throw out there just yet.

That was pretty damn funny, lol. I loved the interview with him in the link after, too, lol.

                          "Where you performing next Superhot?"

                          "Egypt"

"Isn't there a war going on there or something?"

"They heard I was coming, so they stopped it"
"Can we get a release date for your album?"

"No. One day you gonnna wake up, you gonna put on your clothes, and it's gon' be there.

                          Wal-Mart... it's gon' be there.

Baby Gap... it's gon' be there.

                          Weinerschnitzel... it's gon' be there.

Costco... it's gon' be there... in bulk."

I think NC State did a good job of lowering my expectations before i got to listen to watch the throne because I went in expecting some utter garbage and I ended up really like some of the tracks.

There a few throw away tracks but for the most part I'm liking the album as a whole. As much as I think Kanye is a complete and utter douchebag I just love to listen to the man rap. Jay is so-so for me but he brings some heat occasionally but there is no doubt Kanye is the better of the two right now imo.

Nice list Dookie. I actually like Made in America tho.

I honestly can't pick out a "bad" J. Cole song. I too have over 100 of his songs on my ipod, and two days ago I was on my itunes looking for a few songs to delete so I could clear some space. I went through all 3 mixtapes, and the singles, and everything else Cole. The only song I could really get rid of was work out.

This. x100. I honestly believe him being in MMG is what's causing this new Wale...and I hate it . Wale is my favorite artist (followed by J. Cole), and that might change if he continues to go the whole money, cars, girls route. He is(was?) my favorite rapper because his lyrics had meaning. More About Nothing was gold, and many of his earlier stuff was too.

Illest MFer Alive is probably the worst WTT track.

My favorites are New Day (beat sounds like something I expect off Detox), Murder To Excellence, Gotta Have It and Why I Love You.

I don't really like the first part of N***** In Paris (is it really that hard for Kanye to add a "z" to crazy?), but after the first Kanye part I actually kinda like it. This Jay and Kanye part at the end makes me laugh: "I got that hot bitch at my home." "You know how many hot bitches I own?"
