Trust me, I know how it works. The music industry is how I make my living lol

But yeah, I know what you mean. Things aren't the same anymore.

Just thought that after Attention: Deficit, Wale was going to stay the course. Of course it had some mainstream aspects, that's expected, but it still personified Wale at heart.

Luckly, Mr. Glover already raps about ****ing bitches, so if his rap career jumps off like his comedy career then nothing should change course.

I've been waiting for this MMG Experience to end as well man and never really was that big of a fan of it because I knew that it would just result in the Wale we hear now, which is not the same Wale we heard prior to Attention: Deficit.

Or at least remove RAWSE from the equation and I would've been good with just Wale and Meek but seeing how that's his group, that wasn't going to happen.

Yeah, I knew once he signed there, that he was going to change.

Part of the reason I didn't listen to like the first 5-6 records he put out under them. Then when I did, I knew I wasn't missing out on anything lol

New Drake song. Supposedly a bonus cut on Take Care called "The Motto". The reason it's repeating in the beginning is because it's a radio rip.

Like Drake's flow, and of course, there is Wayne. -_____-

Yeah, Ambition is average at best. Attention: Deficit was much better.

I disagree with whoever said this year has been a good year in terms of good music. Unless I'm not looking in the right places or just haven't listened to enough new music, I haven't felt like this year has been any good. A lot of the albums released have been disappointing. Cole World and Watch The Throne are probably the best albums up to this point, but even WTT was disappointing and while I love Cole World, I don't think it would be strong enough to be considered an album of the year in a good year.

People still listen to Fat Joe? Wouldn't have even wasted my time posting his garbage on here LOL.

Guess my expectations were low on alot of these artists that's why I said it's been a good year for music(forgot to add that I was also including R&B Music and Mixtapes as well).

Fat Joe is always good for one or two tracks. Plus , it's free so I figured I'd post it.

LMAO, damn a Fat Joe sighting?

I also agree with BlueNGold, it has been an average year at best. Watch The Throne was an average album which was given more credit than it should have just because it was Jay and Kanye.

Cole World was disappointing too, however I didn't have too many expectations because I'm not a big fan of J. Cole to begin with.

Take Care seems to be in a perfect position to take album of the year. I know there are all the underground releases (Black Cocaine, Jet Life) that are coming but speaking in terms of the mainstream. Aside from Carless World, God Forgives, I Don't and Thug Motivation 103 which will probably never come out this year anyway, it seems to be a lackluster finish to 2011.

One album I am looking forward to is rEVOLVEr, just because it seems like T-Pain always seems to push the envelope on his solo projects.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

November could be a good music month:

                      Drake (Take Care) - 15th
                      Yelawolf (Radioactive) - 21st
                      Common (The Dreamer/The Believer) - 22nd

Then you got The Roots on Dec. 6th

Out of those you have 3 of 4 that should be good with Yelawolf being the wildcard.

I feel like I'm one of the only people that can't stand Yelawolf. There is just something about him, I can not listen to his music, at all. lol

Personally, I was just looking from an album standpoint.

If we are including mixtapes, then it has been a decent year.

I've been down on The Game for a while, the Soul Tape was pretty good. Meek Mill, well is Meek Mill lol.

Kid Ink put out a decent mixtape with Wheels Up, not sure how many people listen to him but he's another one of those niche rappers, he's like a better Wiz Khalifa.

Idk, you could keep going but as far as album releases, it has been lackluster so far.

I am looking forward to the Common album though.
