I just went through the list of what came out this year on Wikipedia to see what I forgot and I still feel this year has been pretty weak. I know I don't have the deepest selection of guys I like to listen to, but not much has stood out this year, at least IMO.
All the albums I've listened to:
Game - R.E.D. Album: Big disappointment.
Big Sean - Finally Famous The Album: A few decent songs like So Much More and Memories, but Big Sean spits a little more hot garbage than hot fire.
Wiz Khalifa - Rolling Papers: No comment.
Lupe Fiasco - Lasers: I don't think I've listened to a single song off this album in months. It had a couple good songs, but the rest was a mess.
Bad Meets Evil - Hell: The Sequel: Aside from Fast Lane, this one never really caught on with me. I might give it another listen top to bottom sometime soon though.
Jay-Z & Kanye West - Watch The Throne: Although it didn't live up to the hype (not sure it ever could have), I feel like it was pretty good. Yes, I know I'm contradicting myself having just said it was disappointing a couple posts above.

J. Cole - Cole World: The Sideline Story: Out of all the albums I've listened, I feel like this was the best from top to bottom. Despite that, it doesn't have those one or two big hits that really tie everything together and I feel The Warm Up and Friday Night Lights are still better.
Wale - Ambition: Already posted my feelings. AD was a much better album. I'm not even sure there's one standout song to me off of this.
As for mixtapes, throw in Big KRIT - R4: The Prequel and Kendrick Lamar - Section 80 and I think that's about all I've listened to when it comes to albums/mixtapes. R4 had it's moments, but there's just some straight up boring tracks or ones that I just can't get into (could be because I've never been that big on much of anything from the South for whatever reason). And as for Section 80, I'd say that right now would probably be my album of the year even if it's considered a mixtape. I don't like every song, but just in terms of lyrics and the whole package, I feel like Section 80 has been the strongest over everything I've put up above.
With only this month and next month left in the year, I'm looking forward to the new Jeezy, Drake, Common, The Roots, and maybe Pusha T albums. Hopefully those are all or mostly good albums so that 2011 closes out a little stronger than I feel it's been.
