If you want to just take the music for what it is and enjoy it - cool. Thats good for you. I won't hate on anyone for liking it, but I can't dig it. When people acting like the world about to shut down b/c the two of them are dropping an album together, I expect some dope tracks - on the level of the Diamonds rmx. I don't hear any though. They don't wanna rap anymore.

I'll go back to listening to Royce 5'9 and Joe Budden rip beats apart - and they aren't rapping about ******* telekinesis either.

Just so you know, people I'm feeling right now: Drake, Royce, Budden, J Cole, Skyzoo, Dirt Diggler, Adele..

also I used to think Jay Z was the GOAT after Black Album. And Kanye was one of my top 5 alive through Graduation. But when I listen to WTT I hear shortcuts taken, no interest in actual rapping, poor use of autotune, and mostly a lot of bland songs that sound the same

JMO...cry about it and accuse me of being a Deep Moses fan some more LOL.
aye, no crying here, ive made my point...and after 3 unsolicited walls of text about the SAME feelings on the album, I assumed youve made yours.

You can stop forcing it down our throat now.

Meek Mill and Wale should be added to your list.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

That Freeway/Young Chris Otis freestyle was turrible. Hell, the last hot line that came from Freeway's mouth was "Put the beat on!" when Cassidy got in the *** a while back.

As for WTT....has signs of Best of Both World and Unfinished Business over it and that ain't good. Other than "Brothers" in Paris and Murder to Excellence, the rest of the album was kind of a snoozefest but I'm not about to break it down word for word/beat for beat/bass for bass like NCState did though

That Ace Hood album(who I always thought kind of underrated) is like that though.

And J-Cole, if you don't stop teasing us with these 3 track mixtapes and just release another one before Cole World drops. Sheesh, I hear a tight song and before I know it that's the end of the mixtape

@ my man 24th for bringing back my man MC Deep Thoughts. That man cracks me up coming up with these names.

Need November to hurry up and get here so Wale can drop Ambition.

                      Could or couldn't?

They've both fluorished in the mainstream, glad to see them get the recognition they deserve.

Not a Cole fan at all, some Wale songs are crack [his spoken word bits on More About Nothing, 600 Benz, Who Don't] but most are meh to me.

Cole and Lupe really don't do anything for me. I tried. I'll keep trying, but if I'm in the mood for some different hip-hop I don't look play these guys. Mostly just play some 90's-early 2000's type stuff.

                          Couldn't

Neither has "flourished" in the mainstream. Internet buzz doesn't equal success in the mainstream.

How can you not like this?! :

                            <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0GQjYPWDcmg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

For me personally I can see the potential of Cole but More About Nothing is better than anything Cole and 95% of rappers of done so I'm more interested in seeing Wale's new stuff. Cole to me had a few really nice tracks and a few nice verses sprinkled between a heap of 'meh' stuff.

Never could get into Cole. I said it more than a few pages back. I tried but he just seems boring to me. It takes effort to get through his stuff. As for Wale, I've heard a few things that I kind of liked, kind of, but nothing to make me really want to hear more. One day I'll sit down and really give him an honest listen.
                              PS: You guys are great.

                                Wale's Seinfeld tapes>>Anything J. Cole had made.

Listened to Watch The Throne. Thought it was decent. Better than I thought it was going to be. Murder To Excellence, Lift Off, That's My Bitch were the highlights.
