At the end of the day, Drake's putting out dope music that my ears enjoy, so that's all I really care about, ghost writers or not.

Will I have a lesser opinion of his talents if this is true? Yeah. But even still, he's got the talent and charisma that's making these lyrics and songs pop, so he shouldn't be completely abolished of all credit either.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

I see what you're saying but if he's just performing it then he's just a great actor lol. I think it comes down to how much of the lyrics he's getting help with, and I doubt it's much. It could just be flow checks and whatnot to help him catch the beat.

Flex says he has reference tracks for R.I.C.O. and Know Yourself, both of which already have dude listed in the credits. He's really embarrassing himself over the whole thing because when Drake drops his album, Flex is gonna be dropping bombs all over it, he's too big, there's no escaping it.

I also wonder how much Drake's versatility will help him in this. He's not burdened with needing to be "the best rapper" in the same way that Kendrick or J. Cole is. If it came out that they weren't writing their stuff, they'd basically lose all credibility. Drake can just stop rapping and make an R&B album go #1 if he really wanted to. Kanye and Dre have the "architect" of the whole project thing going on and no one considers them great MC's. I wonder if Drake could just pivot and make other ****. Or go back to acting lol. He's untouchable.

Personally, I'm kinda surprised at the level of no one cares everyone is on. If Kendrick would've said this, there would've been a war. I'd guess it's like Ruff said, no one really cares what Meek has to say and Drake's fans aren't really bothered by it so it's not a big deal.

I don't think it's that nobody cares what Meek says...it's more so that what he said is nothing new and is YEARS old and we're all basically like "So, what else is new?"

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

To me it seems like Meek is reaching just to generate more buzz for himself and his album.

I also think he's full of **** when he says had he known this beforehand that he wouldn't have Drake on his album. I mean I don't think it's a coincidence that he rounded up the hottest names in the game to feature on his album in Drake, Weeknd and Future. Maybe that's just me though.

I can't remember if it was said here or on Twitter but what's also funny is that he put Wale on blast when he didn't promote his last album the same way Drake didn't for this one. Just seems like bitterness to me.

At the end of the day, I really don't give much of a damn either way. I'm just hoping for some diss tracks.

I think the diss track era is dead lol. We've got dudes screaming at each other on Twitter and Instagram instead now.

Can't really disagree with anything you said, especially the part about leaving him off the album if he knew.

But I'll say this...He doesn't need the buzz for his album and definitely for himself. He already has that and I'm not talking strictly about numbers either.

Yeah, it can't be a buzz thing. He's dating Nicki, he doesn't need any extra publicity, and his album sold really well in it's first week. Drake must've done something to piss Meek off, especially after what he posted on the Brandon Jennings picture. Nicki must've talked him down after that lol. This streak of going after people for not posting your album makes him look really sensitive.

Yup, pretty much explains the meekbelike hashtag on twitter.

Haven't seen anyone post about that new Ortiz album, any thoughts?

                          Nice bar but weak track.

I don't know who takes the L Meek for being in his feelings or Drizzy for this weak *** diss track.

Sounds like it could be a damn love song. I was expecting the beat to drop and him to go into a 5 AM in Toronto flow.

I can't believe he still didn't say a name lol. I guess he doesn't have to, but Drake gets all their health down and just lets them fall down after the "Finish Them" prompt comes up

I don't expect him to talk about money like he did with Cassidy...

I hope Meek's new diss is better than his album, maybe this is the fire we needed lit under him to get some more aggressive **** out.
