Well, I guess he could. Some kind of "smoke and mirrors" thing would be explainable. And I wouldn't complain about Liam returning for the third one, he's an awesome actor.
Yah Liam is a total badass. Maybe Nolan will just completely lose his mind and combine Ra's and Two Face in a medical experiment... Ra's Face.

      Anne Hathaway = Selina
      Tom Hardy = Bane

      ....BANE SERIOUSLY? BANE?
I'm sure my reaction will change somewhat as more info comes out, but for now....Bane...ugh. Though Anne as Selina? cool. Now where's my pics of Anne in a catsuit/burglar getup.

Based on what I am reading .... Huge Strange sounds like a lock for a 2ndary villian.

The Bane knightfall story is my favorite batman story of all-time. So done right, this could be an awesome move.

Don't really know the reason for catwoman, but I suspect she will be on Batman's side rather then be against him.

          Re: The Dark Knight Rises

BOF is saying this is official, as well, for those of you who are like me and don't trust any Batman rumor unless BOF talks about it.

Hardy will be a "new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies [Bane]", Hathaway will be Catwoman.

I'm surprised...and very excited. I cannot freakin' wait to see what Nolan and Hardy do with Bane, after seeing Hardy in Bronson. He can be crazy.

          From Batman-on-Film:

According to a Warner Bros. press release, Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Tom Hardy as Bane in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

I'll have more on this later, but I've known Hardy was Bane for a while but was sworn to secrecy. And As I've said for a while now, I've long heard that Nolan and co. wanted to use Catwoman in a possible third Batman film -- IF they could find a way to use the character in a fresh manner. BOF was also privy to knowing that the TDKR announcement was coming, but I had to play it off a bit -- sorry folks!

I don't know how anyone could not be excited about Tom Hardy as Bane.

I trust Nolan 100% and know that this movie is going to be awesome. Was sort of hoping for the Hugo Strange story arch though.

Hopefully Catwoman doesn't look like this. First fan art posted.

I don't mind Tom Hardy as Bane, i just didn't think Bane would be all that great of a villain in the film is all.

I just don't know how Catwoman will sell to me. Call me crazy, but I just don't like seeing a female role taking down baddies... or goodies for that matter. Let's hope it plays off well and "realistically," whatever that means this days. I think we should just call it "Nolanistically."

In batman begins, the whole breaking the convicts out of Arkham was what Bane did in nightfall to wear batman down before beating the shot out of him.

Bane was a criminal mastermind who happened to take a steroid like drug to make him a hulking beast.

Actually, in Knightfall, Bane was more of a mercenary/solider for hire type of guy.

I think eventually he did end up using roids, though.

Still, Hardy should fit that role VERY well.

                          As for Catwoman...ehhh.

Hathaway's not a bad choice. Jessica Biel's crazy butt would have been interesting in a CatSuit.

Jessica Biel definitely would've looked better in the suit, but Hathaway is a much better actress, in my opinion, which is worth a lot more to the franchise.
