Re: The Dark Knight Rises
SpoilerI will say that the ending should have been with Alfred, Gordon, Fox, and Blake standing at the grave site. I could stomach the ending with Blake going into the batcave and leaving things open for interpretation. I did not like that earlier in the movie having Alfred tell Bruce that every year during that 7 year hiatus he was hoping he would see Bruce with a family in France or wherever he said he would go on vacation. Then at the end we have Alfred go to his vacation spot, and he sees both Bruce with Selina. I didn't want to see Bruce/Batman dead, but also did not want to see the same scenes with Alfred again.SpoilerThe only way I agree is that it would be nice if they didn't show the images of it, and instead just had him describe it. It became way too obvious once they showed it again in the end. Some people I talked to say it could have also improved by not showing Bruce, and just have Alfred acknowledging him off-screen. I suggested it would have also been cool to see Christian Bale put on a different look, maybe like his Terminator Salvation look or something (after all, you don't want anybody to know that Bruce Wayne is still alive).
It was a great scene, though. There were major applause in my audience, and I got goosebumps from it. It was nice to just see Bruce... smile for once, like he's legitimately happy.
SpoilerThe fight scenes should of been beyond awesome between Bane and Batman, I didn't feel like they reached their full potential due to the choreographer used. Bane is a force to reckon with and he did have me many times throughout the movie fear for Batman and anyone that got in the way. I loved that the Nolan's wrote Bane in a way where he wasn't over the top, but would of like to of seen the venom in some capacity. It goes back to the Nolan's not wanting to make these films so cartoonish that they end up coming off as being cheesy several years down the road.SpoilerEver since the first teaser that showed Bane approaching a "broken bat" so to speak, I always wondered if there was something more that Bane was doing to really rough up Batman other than showing brute strength.
That said, people were complaining that they won't really be able to portray Bane as a force not to be reckoned with in a realistic manner. So, it got me thinking: what if Bane used Crane's toxin on Batman, and in Batman's eyes it made him look like this truly unrealistic looking massive juggernaut version of him? I was actually waiting for that a bit in this movie, thinking it could possibly happen.
SpoilerAgain, Hardy was awesome as Bane........he was a menacing brute force. Obviously we know he breaks Batman's back, but the looks from his eyes were quite creepy. I did hate how his voice was recorded though. It sounded like he was speaking in a tin can, like those bad voice overs in games.SpoilerI saw it in IMAX, and had some trouble understanding him and others. Here's to hoping the Blu-ray will not only have a clearer mix, but that they'll also dub his voice again a little differently. I know I keep saying this, but it would be awesome to hear the original prologue voice again (also heard in the first trailer).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Watched it again today and i think I have a new favorite scene.
SpoilerThe bridge at the end. Blake being so persistent on helping the kids, then his reaction when they blew it gave me chills. "YOU SONS OF BITCHES!!!"
Raw emotion. Amazing.
also, still cried at the end. "You trusted me, and I failed you."HoosiersPacersPhilliesRavens

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I prefer the newer voice much more than that old one. It was hard enough understanding the new version at times so I can't imagine trying to understand that one, in a fully packed theater no less.
The unedited voice does sound "more sinister" I guess, but what I loved is that the one they went with sounded so -- and this probably isn't the exact word I'm looking for -- intelligent, yet he was this massive ***-kicking monster. To me that almost made him more frightening but also gave him some kind of charm as well.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. I suppose I'll have to wait and see till I hear it in a regular theater. It's not even the same as the Nokia trailer (at least when I heard it in the theater, which it also wasn't booming there either, and was on the same level with everyone else).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I don't know if it was different in IMAX, but one of the issues was just that it was so boomy, so much louder than everybody else's voice, like he was narrating or something. It reminded me of the Phone Booth Blu-ray, where the sniper's voice covered all 5.1 channels and just felt out of place.

Sounds like PASTA PASTA
DISH DISH
PASTA PASTA.
I like Bane's new voice. Sounds like he is in pain. Kinda like when you break a rib and have to say something, so you get air from a completely different place or method and push the words out? That is what Bane's voice reminds me of. I like it a lot.HoosiersPacersPhilliesRavens
