Go through it 1-6 so you can get through the crap at the beginning then come out glorious in the end.

What movies have you seen recently?
I'd probably say 4-6 then 1-3 is the most enjoy able way to get through them. There are some things in the prequels that need the original trilogy to set up.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams
UWW | UWGB | Duke
AEW

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I go the Machete Order. 4, 5, 1 (optional), 2, 3, 6. New Hope still introduces you to the universe, Return of the Jedi still is the best conclusion, and watching in that order makes it so your 1st two movies are about Luke, next 2 are about Anakin, and the last is about both.
The reason to skip Episode I is less about it being bad than it is about it not adding anything. The main character of the movie isn't even in any other movie. It's back story but doesn't actually add anything to the story of the other five movies that the opening crawl before Attack of the Clones doesn't cover. I think it's actually better if you consider it a standalone film.

Just watch 4-6. I was never able to get in to 1-3 like 4-6. Completely different feeling.
I saw a commercial trailer for The Force Awakens and it looks so awesome. I only saw one of the first like 30 second trailer they released months ago that didn't really show much.
Just seems like it'll hit on the same feelings and vibes from 4-6. There's always going to be naysayers in this day and age, but I think JJ Abrams will knock it out of the park for the majority of people.
I'm no SW fanboy but 4-6 give me the same nostalgic, adventurous feeling that old NES games I grew up playing/watching like Zelda and other classics. It's just one of those stories and universes that sucks you in immediately and makes you care about the characters. I can't wait to see what they do with Luke, Han Solo, Chewie, etc and how they incorporate the new main characters.Last edited by slickdtc; 12-09-2015, 09:52 AM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
1-3 are still good movies but I think Star Wars fans had unrealistic expectations going into it and they are deemed "bad".
It will be interesting to see how people judge these next few Star Wars movies.MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I just went out and bought 4-6 on blu ray to watch with my girlfriend to prep for the new movie since she'd never seen them before.
So far we've only watched A New Hope, and I don't think she was particularly interested, though I definitely had a blast watching it for the first time in quite a while. Being the caring boyfriend that I am, I'll make sure she still sees The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Not even gonna bother with the other ones.
On a side note, I noticed the blu rays aren't the original cut, which is a shame, but I knew that'd be the case. Probably can't get the original on blu ray, and I'm sure it's hard to find period.Comment

I'm sure Disney will release them at some point. There is demand for them and Disney likes money.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I think people who didn't grow up loving the original trilogy are going to like the prequels a lot more. I also think a lot of times there's this stigma to the prequels as if you aren't a real fan if you like them. Disliking them is the cool thing to do. For me, personally, I had watched the originals, but wasn't super into it, but then saw Episode III and was hooked.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Well now we can't have it both ways here lol...
If trailers in threads can be discussed, no matter how spoilerific, and there are prequels to discuss, I can't do that in there if I don't want to get spoiled with anything, now can I?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Also that thread is supposed to be for the 7th movie specifically.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I'm not talking about spoilers... I'm talking about the title of the thread and it turning into a lil SW convention......that's all.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
It can't be a movie thread without Star Wars debate in it every once in awhile. Han definitely shot first.
