        Sherlock Holmes

I don't know any "stories" of this character or if they even exist, but I always knew he was a detective character. So any villains, sidekicks, cityscapes, time frames, etc. was completely beyond me when going into this movie.

First off, nice artistic style. Unfortunately it played off as a little too fantasy for me in some respects, but it set the tone and kept it so that it didn't suddenly morph into this fantasy world. However, it seemed there was more CGI along the way near the end of the movie, so things got only somewhat ridiculous. However, hand fighting choreography was pretty top-notch and worked well with the cinematography and soundtrack, as well as Robert Downey Jr. being a good main character to root for along the way. And Rachel McAdams is a genuine sweetheart that is a little more diverse than I thought she could be. She didn't seem too main of a character until the second act so one would probably almost forget about her partway through, so that sort of became an issue that IMO she wasn't developed enough until the times we actually have to care for her.

The movie has the kind of dialogue that is smart enough for its own setting, but uses flashback images and subtle keywords to allow us to understand what they're talking about. I'm mostly referring to Holmes' conversational processing, which in my opinion reminded me a lot of how House does it. In some respects, too much of it too quickly can kind of become a hassle to listen to, primarily because it's not how people either really talk, nor could they process in that kind of speed. I suppose that's how we're supposed to admire these characters, though... being impressed by their adaptive intelligence. I'm glad that we really learned that side of him, but I thought this movie would be a bit more simplistic and that he'd use a little more detective work to come up with a solution, rather than seeing it all back to realize how something came to be.

By the way, the entire time I thought that Lord Blackwood was played by Andy Garcia, until I saw in the credits that it was by Mark Strong. Did anyone else, that didn't know who the actor was beforehand, see the same thing that I did? I could have sworn it was him, down to the accent. I was completely fooled when I found out it wasn't him. Not only that, but Jude Law had his moments of looking like Rufus Sewell. It was kind of daunting how much these guys look alike.

There is a sequel set up by how this film played out, and I'm sure I'll be seeing that in theaters as well. Unfortunately, neither villain (we learn of the sequel's villain in this film) are really appealing to me, so they'll have to introduce another new element to the movie to be something new, unlike something like The Dark Knight which could play off the Joker as their catch to see the movie. So overall the movie was okay, but the atmosphere was only a little too ridiculous for me, and the screenplay's intended comedy didn't grip the audience as much as I think they hoped for.

I said that same thing about the villain looking like Andy Garcia. The only reason I knew it couldn't have been him was because he was so much taller than everyone else but that guy looks like Andy Garcia's clone.

              Halloween II: 3.4

Horrible movie, the entire thing was abysmal. I don't understand why it was so bad when the first one was actually pretty good. The whole white horse thing was ****astic. I'm actually really angry at this movie. What did Rob Zombie do here?? He had a excellent set up for this one and he turned it into a hippie fare with senseless action.

For one, the Dr. Whose always following Michael and is suppose to play a key role in everything was pretty weak. The direction in which Zombie took him in was admirable at first, but it became worst as the movie went on. And the way he tried to bring him back into character was even worst.

And Laurie!!!! o my Laurie.....wtf did he do to her character? I understand she's a teenager whose gone through some pretty horrific events, but her character was aweful the entire movie. Zombie did a horrible job with the script of this movie.

I really can't get over what i've just viewed here, it was pretty awful. I'm highly upset, i actually want to punch this guy in the face for the direction he took the movie in, and wtf happened to the original kid who played Michael, he was a lot more creepy.

In terms of remakes, this sets way way below remake of Friday the 13th which wasn't all that great either but it wasn't trying to mask itself in something its not.

And the movie has more f bombs then a Lipbizkit song, quoted from someone else:

What does someone do when they get scared? Say the "F" word countless times. What does someone do when they're having fun? Say the "F" word countless times. What does someone do when they're sad? Why, of course, say the "F" word countless times.

                Tyson

In this documetary about Mike Tyson's life and career, you really get a different look and feel for the guy. I grew up in an area not to far from where he grew up and I can understand where he is coming from when he speaks about his childhood.

What is great about this documentary is that it is totally narrated by Tyson himself. The way Tyson expresses himself is at a much higher level than what the media and people have made you to believe. His thoughts are very insightful.

                Great documentary 5 stars!

                  Up In the Air

Wow, very solid movie! This is one of those movies where, though it won't be my favorite of all time, it's one of the better made movies as of late. It was, in a word, "flawless". It made no mistakes and went in no bad directions. Very real and relatable characters in a very real and relatable world and environment. It was perfectly casted (I want to see more of Anna Kendrick in the future) and ran at a perfect time length. There were literally no bad things to say about this movie, enough said.

I hope this is in the Oscar Best Picture running.

And there was nothing cliche about it, whenever you thought it was heading a predictable direction, it changed.

                        The Code

Easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I decided to watch a movie with the family tonight, I begged them not to rent a movie where Antonio Banderas was one of the stars. They didn't listen. The acting was horrible (Morgan Freeman had clearly phoned this one in), the dialogue couldn't possibly have more cliches, there were like 18 twists at the end that all seemed to be there simply for the purpose of having twists in the movie, there was a horribly corny and thoroughly uninteresting love story that I couldn't possibly have cared less about. It was an hour and 36 minutes too long.

I literally cannot think of one positive to say about this movie. I'm going to watch Inglorious Basterds now so I can remember what good acting and storytelling look like.

Mr. Brooks-Starring Kevin Costner and Dane Cook (in a non-comedy role and he actually did pretty good) was an excellent movie. I'm a huge Costner fan and it didn't disappoint. It's about a man who has a a great life but has an alter-ego and a second life. His second life he is a murderer and tries to stop his addiction. I recommend this one definitely.

Fracture-Great thriller. Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling star in it. I've never heard of it until I saw it on Netflix.

Those people who blindly hate on Dane Cook really need to see this movie so they can STFU. He did really well in that role and earned my respect as an actor.
