    Rocketman

Going into it, I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy it. But really liked it, watching this with my new B&W 702s, the performances were amazing.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Went home to see my family this weekend and we went out to see IT: Chapter 2.

The original remains my favorite "scary" movie. The comedy that Tim Curry brought to the original Pennywise really made it stand out from other horror flicks IMO and it made me keep coming back to it.

The re-make from a couple years ago was better than I could have dreamed. I was a little skeptical when the re-make was announced but knew I would go see it anyways due to how much I loved the original and it did not disappoint. Definitely lost a bit of the humor that the original had, but upped the ante in terms of the scares.

Chapter 2 was along the same lines, though Bill Hader brought some humor to it. I've always been a big fan of his so it was really cool for me to see one of my favorite actors in a remake of one of my favorite movies.

As others mentioned, Chapter 2 goes almost 3 hours long. It may have been a little much, though there honestly wasn't all that much that felt unnecessary in the context of the film (though my understanding from talking to people that read the book is that some of the stuff that felt necessary in the film weren't actually in the book at all).

At any rate, I definitely enjoyed it. Not sure I would say it was better than Chapter 1, and it'll never quite be the original to me, but still very good and I definitely recommend seeing it to those that saw Chapter 1 (and honestly, you could probably even skip Chapter 1 because a lot of Chapter 2 is essentially flashing back to Chapter 1).

Pretty late to the party but I just saw the new Aladdin. I know many were less than impressed but I really enjoyed Will Smith's performance and appreciated it for being a new take on genie. Overall an enjoyable watch.

I think this book has been done great justice by both interpretations of the films. A rare thing for Stephen King novels.

I also recommend the 1995 mini series epic The Stand. Extremely well done considering how massive the book was.
I read this one leaves out quite a bit from the book. I'll be interested to see what you think

Finally got around to watching The Hangover movies, well 2 and 1/4 of them. I really didn't like Zach Galifianakis early in his career. But then of all movies "Keeping up with the Joneses" got me liking him more. He really made those 2 Hangover movies. I could've done without Ken Jeong. I don't get where people think he's funny. He just annoys me. For that kind of role, I think Bobby Lee would've been a much better choice. Had to turn #3 off.... just awful.

With Bad Boys 3 coming out and since I never really watched the first two all the way through, I thought I'd give it another go. Man, those were bad, boys.

In Bad Boys 2, Jordi Molla steals that movie.

Watching Outbreak (1995) right now and I doubt I could think of a sneakier collection of acting talent than this. We're talking Morgan Freeman, Dustin Hoffman, Kevin Spacey, Cuba Gooding Jr., Rene Russo. And just when you're thinking how impressive the cast is, boom, some Donald Sutherland.

The movie's just ok, but the acting talent on display is impressive.

FINALLY got around to 'Watchmen: Director's Cut" and it was excellent! Fantastic atmosphere and worth it just for Rorsach (though the other characters are very good as well), and punctuated with some great action scenes. Did not feel the movie's runtime (over 3hrs) at all, which is always a good sign for a long film.

My wife had never seen Office Space nor Napoleon Dynamite before so we watched both last night. I laughed throughout and she played on her phone. She hated them.

She made it through most of Office Space due to Jennifer Anniston being in it but as for Napoleon, she gave up when Kip was at Rex Kwan-Do. She thought it was too dumb. The fact that it is dumb makes it so funny to me.

EDIT: Another one she refuses to watch with me is BASEketball. I just love stupid funny. Not Another Teen Movie is another.
