Ha, yeah it was not good. I did not know what I was in for.

In other news, I watched The Graduate this morning with Dustin Hoffman. Somehow I didn't put together (until the movie was already about 85% over) this that famous wedding scene parodied in Wayne's World 2 originated with this film. Not a bad film, but I was surprised it was nominated for so many awards.

And then I watched Apocalypse Now: Redux and enjoyed the added Robert Duvall surfboard-related scenes.

      Toy Story (Blu-Ray):
-Obviously the movie is fantastic. All these years later and this is still my favorite of the Pixar movies. I'm not going to spend a lot of time talking about the movie, it's great end of story. For more proof, see the 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

-The reason to own this disc is the picture and sound. I have Wall-E, I have Up but there's something about this transfer of Toy Story that seems better to me. Obviously it's like trying to decide between Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Alba (Scarlett), but there's something about this Toy Story disc that seems superior. Colors pop right off the screen, as evidenced by the green on Buzz which is the crispest green I have ever seen. I had the Special Edition DVD and it's absolutely amazing the difference, and that DVD transfer was great. Everything has more detail and texture. Rex is a good example of this. You can see every little scale carved into his plastic. There just aren't enough superlatives I can throw at Pixar and Disney for this Blu-Ray. It's astonishing and an absolute must own, even if you already have the Toy Story DVD. The words "Demo Disc" come to mind as I watch this. If you want to impress people and really show off what your new LCD can do, this disc will be sure to amaze and impress.

^ I watched both last night. If you thought Toy Story was great, wait until you pop in Toy Story 2!

I ended up getting both for a very low $23.48 at Best Buy yesterday. They already knocked off $10 for getting both of them, and then I printed $10 coupons for each movie by entering a valid UPC code for the original DVD's at http://www.disneymovierewards.com, taking off another $20. Put together the fact that both include DVD versions as well as two movie tickets for Toy Story 3 with $8.50 face value each, if I sell the DVD's I will actually end up making money buying these Blu-rays.

        Ah, thanks Pixar!

toys r us has them for $16.99 each if you buy them together, I tried it and they said TS2 was only for people who pre-ordered, so I went to Target and walked out with both for about $18. Don't go to Best Buy when you can get them cheaper from TRU or Target.

Yeah, I never was encouraging him to go to Best Buy. I was merely saying that's where I got it and for how much. I could have always price-matched as well, but I was getting a great enough deal as is. Plus, I like helping them out and getting more RZ points.

Watched a couple of movies this week.

Run Lola Run on blu ray. It was alright...decent transfer. Think MTV-version of Vantage Point. And well...Lola runs during the whole thing.

Standard DVD...Unrivalved. I guess this is a MMA franchised movie, like the WWE flicks. It was alright. The closest thing it compares to is The Wrestler...just not nearly as good.

I actually got Run Lola Run this past week since it was $9.99 on AMZ.

Anyway, I watched Dazed and Confused last night. Awesome movie. Nothing really happens, but I still thought it was hilarious.

I got it from AMZ when it was $10.99 I'd say it's a much tamer female version of Crank when I think about it.

Love that movie, it has to be one of my most quoted movies of all time.

I saw Hot Tub Time Machine tonight, it was actually hilarious. I was pretty pumped for it anyways and it was way funnier than I thought it would be. Highly recommended. Rob Corddry was outstanding.

                          Hot Tub Time Machine. Hilarious.

It started a little bit slow, but it was a riot once it got going. Really exceeded my expectations.

Seeing it for the first time?

Just watched Planet Terror. I love zombie movies, so this was a fun ride. Looked and sounds great on blu ray, despite being processed to look like a cheap 70s movie reel.

UPDATE: Watching the Family Guy movie...Something, Something Darkside. The Rocky 4 montage took this from a good movie to awesome movie.
