I watched Big Trouble this morning on Netflix instant, wasn't expecting much but I really enjoyed it. Had some really funny parts. It starred Tim Allen who I've always been a fan of.

Watched Sherlock Holmes last night and it was pretty good but nothing Im going to be buying anytime soon. I might have went into it with expectations that were way too high but it just didnt deliver for me personally.

The Princess and the Frog- 9.0

The movie reminded me a lot of Aladdin, with the antagonist sort of looking like JaFar. The animations were crisp and the songs were catchy. Definitely a great return to animation after all the CGI we've got lately.

Have to admit though, some of those scenes were a bit much for a small child, referring to the Voodoo scenes. But overall pretty good movie.

Finally got around to watching Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.

Not a bad flick but not as good as the first two and really needed Kate Beckinsale and not the puffy lipped woman they had in it. She looks hot in some other pics etc but really looks strange in this movie imo.

today watched Couples Retreat and The Informant. Did not make it to the end of either. I ended up reading spoilers for the Informant and still did not regret not finishing it, it just wasn't engaging at all. Couples Retreat, I thought it was going to be a lot funnier than it was and honestly it just seemed to drag on.

Law Abiding Citizen - Entertaining. Nothing particularly good about it, but I was entertained. I'm not going to rush out to buy it, but i'm also not mad that I saw it.

Up - Pixar hits another home run. It's amazing to me that they've made like 15 years worth of movies, and if I were grading them out the scale would range from A+ to A-. Up gets an A. Like Wall-E, I felt that the beginning of the movie was some of the best stuff I had seen the entire year. The end portions of the movie got back to more kid friendly fare, and while good it's the first parts of the movie that were the best. That wordless montage of his life with his wife was one of the more moving scenes I have seen lately.

I've yet to see Space Jam. I watched The Tenant yesterday. It's starring and directed by Roman Polanski. It's from 1975 I believe. It's a story about a guy in France who moves into an apartment that is recently vacated by a woman who committed suicide. He starts a downward spiral into madness, convinced his neighbors are trying to make him into the woman who killed herself. It's very slow paced and methodical and I loved every minute of it. Roman Polanski was a very good actor too, I was surprised as I didn't even know he acted. I'd highly recommend this movie for those who like psychological dramas with a supernatural feel.

BTW - The Tenant is part of three films made in the same vein, Rosemary's Baby and Repulsion were the other two.
