just watched Runaway Jury. Really enjoyed it. The cat and mouse drama was good and the "twist" at the end was a nice touch. Gene Hackman is a very good villain.

Sid & Nancy: Wow, I don't think I've ever been as annoyed by one character as I was by Nancy Spungen, played by Chloe Webb. Many times it was all I could to keep myself from smashing my speakers. An okay movie about the talentless, lowlife lovers Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols and his girlfriend, and how they drug each other from the bottom to the rock bottom.
The Wolfman: Pretty decent, about what I was expecting. Well, I didn't think it'd be as gory as it was but I'm not complaining. Del Toro at times sounded out of time and place, but at least it was kind of explained.PS: You guys are great.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Just saw Taxi driver for the first time and I must say it does not live up to all the billing. It's a very good movie and all just not as good as I was expecting it to be.
I also did not like the way it ended could have been more realistic or could that be just a dream and not the true ending. All well either way it was an interesting movie to say the least.
There are some great moments in many different ways.
gross/creepy: Scorsese's scene in the back of the cab is so effed "do you know what a 44 magnum pistol could do to a woman's _____?" ....ewww
funny awk: taking that girl to "the movies" LOL
strange: conversation with the other cabbie where he gives the dumbest non-sensical advice ever heard.
and so on. I actually wouldn't expect many people to actually like or be impressed with it on it's first viewing or even ever. It's quite a different movie lol.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

I caught this last night before I was going to sleep, and I couldn't stop watching it. I thought it was hilarious and had lots of good one liners. If you need a laugh this is a movie to watch. Steve Coogan is great and the way he delivers lines is top notch.
The "play" of the movie is terrible but everything else is gold.Last edited by Guest; 07-29-2010, 10:42 AM.Comment

Watched "The Wrestler" last night and loved it. Mickey really made me feel sorry for the caracter he was playing. Ending left room for a lot of interpretation. I usually don't like endings like that though. I think he died because of the fact that Pam had left him, his daughter had vowed to never see him again and even after his opponent said to just pin him, he continued on, likely to his death.Comment

Death at a funeral. C- There were a couple of funny exchanges, but it bored me for the most part.
Salt. B- I've already seen this movie before and Matt Damon did it better. Nice action sequences though.
Just Another Day. C+ Bad acting but certainly not a terrible movie. Worth a watch if you are a rap/hip-hop fan.Comment

Precious. Good movie. Depressing story, with hope at the end. Not sure if Monique deserved an Oscar, but she was very believable in her role.Comment

Saw Death Race on tv last night with Jason Statham. The special effects / stunt work was pretty good but other than it was a pretty forgettable movie. Pretty much what you expect when you sit down to watch a movie called death race i guess.Comment
