Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Date Night -7.4 Had some funny parts and lines to it, overall the movie was enjoyable.
A Team - 8.0 Pretty good action and well pretty good action.
Batman: Under the Red Hood- 8.8 Really good story, which it was a bit fleshed out more and loved the art style
Clash of the Titans- 6.0 I sort of had high hopes for it, i liked the original because it was cheesey and just a fun watch. This one felt heartless to me. It was action packed which is good, but it was so soul-less.Last edited by marshallfever; 07-21-2010, 10:28 AM.Comment

The White Stripes - Under the Great Northern Lights: So, this isn't really a concert film and not really a true documentary, but it essentially just follows the band around their first ever Canadian tour during the Icky Thump tour. Its a good look into the band and the dynamic and offers some **** versions of their songs. I think the best thing about this was all the small, side stuff they did such as playing in a bowling alley, a bus, and the "One Note Show" they did when they first announced the tour.
Pink Floyd - Pulse: This is one of the best concert dvds I have seen - I mean, this really is quite an experience even in the comfort of your own home. Its a shame that Roger wasn't included, but Gilmour is just phenomenal and them playing through Dark Side of the Moon is the ****.
American Graffiti - So George Lucas directed something that wasn't Star Wars and it is awesome. It felt like Dazed & Confused except set like 15 years earlier and without the drugs. I enjoyed all the different story lines, though Ron Howard's storyline with his girlfriend was kind of uninteresting.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Last night I watched another Charles Bronson flick. This time I dipped into his Cannon years with the '86 film Murphy's Law. Here's the plot summary:
I just have to laugh at the character's name as I associate Jack Murphy with the stadium in San Diego. Anywho, the summary sounds good right? Well it's not quite the best movie around as it's a lot of action and some of the elements are cliched to the hilt but I found the movie entertaining enough. Bronson lends a credibility to Cannon which few others did. (I think Chuck Norris did a couple Cannon films) The movie is unapologetic with a lot of the totally non-PC things that go on such as Bronson kicking the crap out of the car thief (said car thief is a teenaged girl) and the whole set up of him trying to get his wife back was pretty low with him watching her do her job as a stripper then following her home to see her getting it on with her boss.
Once the movie gets into the plot it becomes a bit better and predictable though there are a couple scenes that did surprise me such as late in the film where the car thief seems to really like Bronson and tries to get in bed with him! I don't know if it was just titilation via dialogue or if there was real reciprocation on the part of Bronson's character. The person who's framing Bronson was played quite well in a pretty one note performance but it was done to great effect.
The movie has some great quips and the action is pretty good. I think that's the best you could hope for in one of these movies. Bronson lends a touch of class to the proceedings as well. This is one of those movies you watch on a rainy day to pass the time.

Just finished the original 12 Angry men again for the second time, this time on my own and not for school. Still a really enjoyable and powerful movie.
I know each member represented a fragment of a person minds or really how many different personalities exist, but i can't recall what the 4th jury meant anymore. The last person to turn his verdict to not guilty. I know the jury was sat by himself at the table at the end was a sign or personality of racism, but i can't remember what the last juror meant.

Kill Bill (both volumes) - I think the greatest thing about this film is the soundtrack. Not to say everything else is bad, because the characters are great and the performances are very good (though Daryl Hannah seemed forced). Plus, the action sequences were cool. But still, the scoring and songs were amazing.
In my opinion both, Kill Bill movies are awesome. I can't really decide which one I actually like better. I'm a huge Uma Thurman fan mainly because of these movies and Pulp Fiction.
As far as Reservoir Dogs honestly, I think that it may be one of the most well cast movies that I've ever seen. Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Steve Buscemi performances are all just unbelievable. The soundtrack is crazy good and some of the scene's are just amazing. If you haven't watched it, I don't know what you're waiting on.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

I was in a Tarantino type mode last weekend so I watched both Kill Bill: Volume 2 and Reservoir Dogs on Blu Ray. I had seen both movies before but, never on BR so, I figured I'd give them a watch. In case, you have never seen them they are both really good. Great acting, great directing, great soundtrack everything you want in a movie.

I watched Ninja Assassin last night and really enjoyed it. I think i was in the mood for some basic violence and nothing too complicated and this movie delivered in spades. Yes the violence is way over done with blood splashing all over the place but overall i enjoyed it for what it was. 8 out of 10 from me.Comment

L.A. Confidential.
Maybe because I watched it half asleep, but I had a bit of a hard time figuring out which cops were good or not and what was going on regarding the killings.
Still good movie. Love movies done in the 90's that d****t a 50's world.Comment

^^^ Ya, I never understood the accolades for L.A. and I think Basinger got an award which I never figured out and care not to.
Finally got to watch Chronicles of Riddick and found it more unique and entertaining than I thought it would be. The one returning character from Pitch Black was a stretch however.Comment
