Kill Bill (both volumes) - I think the greatest thing about this film is the soundtrack. Not to say everything else is bad, because the characters are great and the performances are very good (though Daryl Hannah seemed forced). Plus, the action sequences were cool. But still, the scoring and songs were amazing.

Saw "Letters to Juliet" yesterday with my wife. Romantic movie, but OK. Nice places, nice music, my wife liked it...and it was ok, not complaining at all.

I've never heard of the movie before, but I IMDB'd it and saw Uwe Boll directed it.

I think that's enough of a warning to not spend 50 cents on it.

I've also watched a bunch of movies I need to get up here, but I've been lazy and it's hard for me to review a movie without including spoilers, so I'm not sure what to type.

Back to the Future 1 & 2 - I never realized that the actress playing Jennifer changed until today.

Watched (500) Days of Summer today. Thought it was awesome.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is quickly rising to one of my favorite actors. Might watch "Uncertainty" right now to see how that one is.

Just back from seeing Inception. Not quite sure what I saw, but it was very well done and a fun ride. Definitely need to see it again to pick up on more things.

Dear John...parts of this movie just bring me to tears. Very well done. Lead actors have great chemistry, Channing Tatum plays the quiet, strong, soldier-type well, and it's a good (but sad) story.

Last night I watched another Charles Bronson flick. This time I dipped into his Cannon years with the '86 film Murphy's Law. Here's the plot summary:

Charles Bronson plays Jack Murphy a veteran police detective who is framed for the murder of his ex-wife. Although taken into custody, Murphy escapes from the police station handcuffed to a foul-mouthed car thief. Pursued by the police, Murphy must find the real killer before it is too late
I just have to laugh at the character's name as I associate Jack Murphy with the stadium in San Diego. Anywho, the summary sounds good right? Well it's not quite the best movie around as it's a lot of action and some of the elements are cliched to the hilt but I found the movie entertaining enough. Bronson lends a credibility to Cannon which few others did. (I think Chuck Norris did a couple Cannon films) The movie is unapologetic with a lot of the totally non-PC things that go on such as Bronson kicking the crap out of the car thief (said car thief is a teenaged girl) and the whole set up of him trying to get his wife back was pretty low with him watching her do her job as a stripper then following her home to see her getting it on with her boss.

Once the movie gets into the plot it becomes a bit better and predictable though there are a couple scenes that did surprise me such as late in the film where the car thief seems to really like Bronson and tries to get in bed with him! I don't know if it was just titilation via dialogue or if there was real reciprocation on the part of Bronson's character. The person who's framing Bronson was played quite well in a pretty one note performance but it was done to great effect.

The movie has some great quips and the action is pretty good. I think that's the best you could hope for in one of these movies. Bronson lends a touch of class to the proceedings as well. This is one of those movies you watch on a rainy day to pass the time.

                              2 out of 5 stars.
