Kill Bill (both volumes) - I think the greatest thing about this film is the soundtrack. Not to say everything else is bad, because the characters are great and the performances are very good (though Daryl Hannah seemed forced). Plus, the action sequences were cool. But still, the scoring and songs were amazing.

I think that's enough of a warning to not spend 50 cents on it.
I've also watched a bunch of movies I need to get up here, but I've been lazy and it's hard for me to review a movie without including spoilers, so I'm not sure what to type.Comment

Dear John...parts of this movie just bring me to tears. Very well done. Lead actors have great chemistry, Channing Tatum plays the quiet, strong, soldier-type well, and it's a good (but sad) story.Last edited by gopadres; 07-20-2010, 02:10 PM.NOW PLAYING: Battlefield 3, MLB 12 The Show

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Last night I watched another Charles Bronson flick. This time I dipped into his Cannon years with the '86 film Murphy's Law. Here's the plot summary:
Charles Bronson plays Jack Murphy a veteran police detective who is framed for the murder of his ex-wife. Although taken into custody, Murphy escapes from the police station handcuffed to a foul-mouthed car thief. Pursued by the police, Murphy must find the real killer before it is too late
Once the movie gets into the plot it becomes a bit better and predictable though there are a couple scenes that did surprise me such as late in the film where the car thief seems to really like Bronson and tries to get in bed with him! I don't know if it was just titilation via dialogue or if there was real reciprocation on the part of Bronson's character. The person who's framing Bronson was played quite well in a pretty one note performance but it was done to great effect.
The movie has some great quips and the action is pretty good. I think that's the best you could hope for in one of these movies. Bronson lends a touch of class to the proceedings as well. This is one of those movies you watch on a rainy day to pass the time.
