Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Moneyball: Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Brad Pitt delivered as Billy Beane, Jonah Hill delivered the best role of his career, and the movie was engrossing from start to finish.
Cannot recommend this movie enough for baseball fans. Hell, I think there's even enough here for non-baseball fans to really enjoy it.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Underworld Awakening: Big fan of the Underworld series (and Kate) so i'm biased but i liked this one a lot. Much more action sequences that the previous films though, but i liked that aspect. And anytime Kate gets to kick *** in latex is a win (well for me anyway.)
Children of Men Got the Blu-ray and HAD to watch it through again. I adore everything about this movie, the acting, the story, the camera work and especially the final single camera sequence. Some people say the movie ended to early but i say that we were following Theo's part of the story and his part in the baby's journey has ended, thus the movie ended. I always thought the movie ended where it SHOULD have.HELLO BROOKYLN.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I went to the movies for the first time in ages last weekend with my younger sister. Was excited to see Sherlock Homes 2 as I'm a big RDJr fan and we were running a bit late and got to the cinema at 11.30am right as the movie was supposed to start. We walk up to door and the lineup is about 50 people deep.By the time we get to the front of the line it is already 11.50am and we would have missed the start so we decide on the spot to go see something else. I look at the board and my 3 options all starting a 11.50 are:
1. Muppets movie
2. Hugo (some 3D kids movie by the looks of it)
3. Happy Feet 2.
Reluctantly we decide to go see happy feet 2 and it was pretty damn awesome! Just so well done and it had an awesome cast (Brad Pitt and Matt Damon as Will and Bill the Krill were hilarious) and a great story. So I ended up seeing a movie I never would have gone to see out of choice and ended up loving it. A solid 8.5/10 from me.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Horrible Bosses -- Pretty good but it didn't live up to my expectations and all the good things I heard about it.
I didn't really like the way the story unfolded near the end. It felt like everything ended too quickly and was wrapped up neatly. I think they could have gone in a better direction with the second half of the movie.
The cast was solid though. This was the first time I've seen Charlie Day and he was pretty hilarious. Like everyone else has said, Jennifer Aniston was just ridiculously hot. Julie Bowen was also super hot in the short time she was shown in the movie. Crazy how she's gotten 10x hotter from Happy Gilmore to where she is now.
Anyways, the movie was good but nothing I'd go out and buy on DVD/Blu-Ray and I don't think it's good enough for multiple viewings either. That said I wouldn't mind a sequel because I like the cast they have in place.
I'd give it a 3/5.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Should have gone with Hugo, it was one of the finest films of 2011.
Happy Feet 2 was vastly inferior to the first, and the horribly meaningless forced 3D scenes dragged it down even further.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Return of the King - 4.5 hours of epic closure. Eowyn is a badass in battle, I must admit. Decapitating a Nazgul and then planting a sword in the face of the Witch King? I was crushing on her. Gimli came through with a ton of great lines and stole scenes left and right. Andy Serkis is amazing and deserves Oscar recognition BEFORE the "achievement" crap they dish out to the legends they neglected. But whatever. I guess I will read the books now.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Spoiler
At the beginning there is a scene with Saruman and Grima, with the Fellowship trying to reason with them. Saruman finishes that sequence quite nicely.
Gandalf almost getting owned by the Witch King.
Aragorn, Gimili and Legolas escaping from an avalanche of skulls...really.
A couple scenes with Eowyn and Faramir to basically show that they fall in love.
When the Fellowship does the distraction at the Black Gate there is a "negotiation" with The Mouth of Sauron.
Plus a bunch of small, one scene addition type things.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
It's about an hour's worth of extended scenes, but I feel like the extended versions fleshed out a lot of things. Some things are trivial, but most of them are worth it IMO. I would imagine it also depends how much you enjoy the films.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I saw the Straw Dogs remake last night....It was okay but not something that left a great impression on me. A lot of this movie was predicated on stupid behavior by stupid people.
I'm sure that happens a lot in real life but I don't want to see idiotic people doing idiotic things in a movie.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
