American Reunion. I liked it. Seeing the entire gang back together and how they've changed was cool. Had plenty of funny moments.

Contraband and Seeking Justice were two movies I saw today. They were both good.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Haha maybe it was, I can't remember. I think there was a movie that I had already seen, so it was okay... but then there were one or two more posts that kind of said more than they should have.
It's really difficult to be very vague about the film's content and to just speak between the lines of the film. I try my hardest, but even then you want to say things that you just can't.

The most fun I've had watching a movie in a long time. Too many hilarious moments to mention. Soundtrack did a great job at setting the mood of the film. Might have to pick this up on Blu-ray at some point.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I've been on a Christopher Nolan film binge lately, having watched Following, Memento, Insomnia, and The Prestige in the past week. Time to get Inception, Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight out of the way. One more month until The Dark Knight Rises! Crazy how time flies, yet in front of you it always feels so far away!Last edited by Blzer; 06-20-2012, 08:09 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Wanderlust - Paul Rudd was good, but the rest of the film was meh.
The Innkeepers - Good horror movie. Not much gore, but has a chilling atmosphere. The characters were likable and the writing was sharp. Also I love Sara Paxton.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Finally got around to watching Safehouse. Wasn't a great movie by any means, but it was decent. And man, Denzel is just such an amazing actor. I never get tired of watching his movies.NFL: Bills

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Yesterday was my foreign thriller day. These Korean thrillers that I watched were some of, if not the best, revenge dramas I have ever seen.
I Saw the Devil - Extremely good movie. Granted, a bit brutal, but the actors did a good job throughout the movie. Maybe paying attention to the subtitles instead of being able to understand what they were saying outright masked any inconsistencies that the movie may have had, but it was excellent. Being an Asian thriller, there was obviously a bit of gore - but I enjoy seeing it in the course of the story. As long as it serves a purpose and isn't just there to be superfluous. It is a brutal tale of an Agent who's fiance gets murdered by a serial killer. Throughout the movie there is pursuit, and both sides of the coin play games here. The cost of the revenge is what I would say this viscerally engaging movie is about. 8.5/10
No Mercy - Another good Korean movie. It is compelling, but the movie bogged down a bit story-wise in the middle. A bit convoluted, with a brilliant ending. Questions arise about humanity, doing the right thing, and the willingness to learn from mistakes. An ending I did not see coming, which pulled together everything brilliantly in my opinion. Again, some violent scenes but nowhere near the level of "I Saw the Devil." If you liked the movie se7en, I would suggest watching this movie. 8/10
H - Yet another thriller from Korea. It was a theme for the movie day I had I guess. Again, it has enough moments of blood to satisfy those fans. Not the most original storyline, nor were the actors the greatest. The movie was good for what it was though. Plot deals with a serial killer that's behind bars, and copycat killings are happening. A few twists and turns here and there, still a good revenge thriller to see. 7.5/10
The Man From Nowhere - Another KThriller (that's what I'll call them from now on) about a quiet pawn shop owner, that has a violent past. This one didn't score as high with the critics as the previous 3, but Rotten Tomatoes has an 88% score from the audience. I'm one of that majority that likes this movie. Actually, out of the movies I've posted about right here this one may be my favorite. It's up there. I actually got emotionally invested in this movie, which states just how good it is. A movie in a foreign language got me invested. Maybe it was the little girl in the movie, but the way she looks and the lines just hit home. A better version of Taken, in my opinion, that hits harder. 8.5/10
Mother - I just put this one on as a whim. It's interesting, but nowhere near great. If you have the time to watch it, I'd say go for it but there's no need to go out of your way to see this movie. The plot is about a mentally challenged young man that gets blamed for a murder and has no alibi. The story is about the lengths his mother will go through for him. Random twists and turns keep you on your feet throughout the story, and it's fun to play detective. Not bad, but nothing groundbreaking. 7/10badComment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
The Woman in Black - Starring Daniel Radcliffe who played Harry Potter this is a very good horror movie. It doesn't bring anything new but it's one of the few quality horror movies to be released recently. Excellent plot and acting, good writing, beautifully shot, at no points does it drag, and a satisfying ending.
SpoilerAfter watching this I began wondering why the people in the town did not try to stop Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) more. The plot reveals that whoever sees the "woman in black" a child will die, yet they didn't put much effort into stopping Kipps. Other then saying the hotel was full, trying to talk him into going back to London, and attempting to block the car from going to the house where the woman is, they didn't do much to really stop him. I figured they would of blocked all access to the house, chained up the doors and windows, permanently blocked the only road to the house, and done whatever possible to prevent Kipps from getting to the house since the stakes were so high.Last edited by Buckeyes_Doc; 06-21-2012, 02:39 PM.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Take Shelter starring Michael Shannon.
Pretty solid flick in my opinion, and the acting was damn good. I'd watch it again.Comment

The Illusionist. Started slowly, but I really liked this. The power struggle between Eisenheim and the Prince was good. Ed Norton put in another solid performance and Jessica Biel is still easy on the eyes.Comment
