Saw Skyfall last night. I thought it was pretty good, but I was left wanting more. It seemed a little rushed to me. But I hadn't really been following the build up around it. I went it basically knowing nothing about it.

Insidious - proof that an absolutely outstanding film can have a ridiculously bad, cliche, unnecessary twist ending. Again though, other than that and a couple of below-average effects, it was brilliant. Terrifying.

I liked the ending and I'm very looking foward to part 2. Insidious is one of the better horror movies I've seen the past few years...

End of Watch- Pretty solid movie, the ending was a bummer only because someone spoiled it to me. But if I hadn't known already then it would've been a good ending.

Skyfall - I feel like this shifted more towards the classic Bond movies and away from what Casino Royale had introduced to us. Its hammy in a classic Bond way, but also some some pretty good dramatic elements. Not sure where it falls in line, but it was great. I think it was the best major tent-pole release of the year.

The Expendables 2: It was alright. A lot of people said they liked this one better than the first but not me. I liked the first better. Just couldn't get into this one for some reason...

As long as they don't veer off into Brosnan/Moore territory (tho some of the Moore films were pretty good) than I can't complain too much about that. I MIGHT be seeing this tomorrow actually.

The Amazing Spiderman on BluRay. I sort of resisted it for the first quarter of the movie but it won me over, and the fight scenes were exceptional. Nicely done, and it's never a burden to watch Emma Stone, either.

I also finally picked up Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on the cheap on DVD I have so many favorite scenes over the years and finally wanted to just sit and watch the whole thing again.

                                End of Watch.

Solid movie. It's a movie about 2 cops and their constant battle with dangers on the job. Honestly, it's a gut wrenching movie and really gives you an appreciation for cops. That job is very difficult and in South Central LA that's an understatement. Gyllenhaal and Pena play off each other very well and I think it's Pena's best performance. It also shows the strong bond that partners have for each other. America Ferrera and Anna Kendrick are also in it which is a plus. I'd say it's one of the best police movies I've seen.

David Ayer directs it and once again delivers. For those that don't know him he was the writer for Training Day, The Fast and the Furious, and Dark Blue.

                                I highly recommend it.
