Saw the Lego Movie tonight. Absolutely incredible. So enjoyable, I laughed a lot. Even better than I expected going into it. Haven't seen an animated movie in probably a decade, but I grew up on Legos and it was absolutely worth it. Great for all ages.

The World's End (2013)

Not as great as their first two films (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), but it was still pretty hilarious. It was definitely a little more "out there" than the other two, but I enjoyed it.

Not a movie, but halfway through the 4th season of Weeds. Bought the whole season on blu ray for $45 awhile back and decided to use these snow days off to start watching. Unlike Breaking Bad, initially I didn't find any of the characters enjoyable. Wasn't a fan of the 1st season, but UTurn and Marvin kept me watching. Nancy and Celia are the least likable characters for me to this point.

I've been burnt out on the Godzilla movies but i'm sure i'll get back to them at some point. In place of that I watched a 1957 Western starring William Conrad and Anthony Quinn called The Ride Back . It was an independently produced and smaller budget film that seems simple enough. A sheriff (Conrad) has to go to Mexico to extradite a murderer (Quinn) but it isn't a simple job as Quinn tries to escape at every opportunity and then they're hounded by Indians. They even run across a cabin that was ransacked and the inhabitants killed by the Indians except the twin daughter of the people killed survived and they take her in as they all try to get back to town.

It's a very good little film that stands on the acting of the two stars. Quinn and Conrad are excellent in this and there's far more to their characters than meets the eye.

I flesh things out more in my review which has already been written but will be published on Wednesday.

Movie 43

One of the biggest pieces of garbage ever recorded on film. Only skit to get me to crack a smile was one about home schooling. Everyone involved should be embarrassed considering all the high profile names involved.

21 & Over

Not funny at all. Other movies have done better with the same premise.

Gangster Squad

Another bad movie. Ryan Gosling's accent was painful. Turned it off under an hour in. Watched a documentary on G.L.O.W. (80's all female wrestling promotion) instead. Turned out to be the correct move.

Side Effects

Finally got one right. Didn't do well in theaters, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Solid thriller.

Spoiler

Rooney Mara and Catherine Zeta-Jones make out and play grab ***. That alone gives you a reason to watch.

Watched Runner Runner tonight. I liked it. Not too much of a thinker, but it was a fun watch.
