Earlier today I watched an excellent HBO documentary called Herblock: The black & the white (2013). It's about the famous Washington Post editorial cartoonist Herb Block and the work he did for 57 years in that craft. I have to say it was a very informative and interesting documentary. Block was ahead of the curve on A LOT of things such as environmental problems, corruption in politics and the over reliance on the Middle East for oil. The best part of the documentary was the segment on his work against Richard Nixon during Watergate. Some of the man's work was very prescient and he was again, ahead of everyone else when it came to that.
The doc also did a neat thing by having an actor play Block (he's deceased) in his office and doing an interview. The Block segments were all based on his essays and such so there's no factual liberties being taken. These bits added a personal touch amidst the talking heads talking about Block's work. It was quite seamless and integrated well into the film.

Leon: the Professional.
For a top 30 IMDB movie, it didn't make much of an impression on me. Gary Oldman absolutely kills it though.I write things on the Internet.

Lone Survivor.
I didn't like the Whalberg casting choice when I first heard about the movie. While he plays those roles well I couldn't help but think of the physical difference between him and Luttrell in real life (Whalberg's about 5'8 Luttrell stands 6'4). As someone that has read the book I fully knew what the movie was about. I was blown away. Whalberg played the role so well and I thought the cameo from Luttrell was fantastic at the beginning.

Fast and Furious 6 - Really enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one after seeingin the closing credits. I completely wrote this series off after the 2nd and 3rd films but the last 3 have been really well done. Not sure how Vin and the creative team will work the character of Brian. I think it would be more dramatically interesting to push Dom even harder emotionally than he was in the fourth film by having Staitham kill Brian off screen and hold Mia and the baby hostage.
The other way to go is to send Brian and Mia off into the sunset while Dom and the remaining members of the crew deal with Staitham.GO 'HAWKS!
