I've started to form an appreciation for F1 over the past year, but you don't have to dig racing to enjoy the movie. The story on its own will hold your interest.

There's some great acting in Rush. The way that the relationship between Nicky Lauda and James Hunt evolves throughout the movie was really interesting to watch. They were both such polar opposites, and I think that's what made it so intriguing. In the end, I think they both learned lessons from each other. I especially liked the actor who played Nicky. He was supposed to be an *******, but he still had a charm and wise ways about him. I could appreciate his intensity.

I also liked the way they mixed in a lot of comedy throughout the film. Both drivers have some great lines, and it adds some nice humorous relief during their intense rivalry. There wasn't really anything that I disliked about it. Awesome movie.
Watched this last night, I agree, it was awesome. Hemsworth added some humor, but the professional rivalry between the two really came off perfect. The real Niki Lauda also mentioned that he liked how true to the story they kept the movie. There was some Hollywood to it, but overall it captured the 1976 F1 season really well.

Klondike....The Miniseries from the Discovery Channel. Had Richard Madden from Game of Thrones in it. I really enjoyed it. Its a 6 hour miniseries, but that included commercials so probably about 5 hours of film.

I've got this sitting on my dvr. I thought I had read it was 6 episodes, not just hours. Not realizing each episode was 2 hours each I've been waiting for the dvr to get the other 3 episodes.

Looks real good and I pretty much like anything Tim Roth does.

Just got done watching Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. I didn't think I would enjoy it that much, but I was totally wrong. I wasn't expecting it to be so adult-oriented. All the blood and gore, Hansel and Gretel cursing, it was very enjoyable IMO.

Side Effects. **** was crazy with the plot twists. That movie didn't go the way I thought it was going at all from the start.

The Raid: Redemption. A completely over the top action/Kung Fu film. It's great fun as long as you don't take it seriously. The main character has about 4 major fights and each one would have killed him 20X over. Remarkably, after each one there is hardly a mark on his face. :-)
Still well worth it if you just wanna have a lot of fun. Version I saw (on cable) was with subtitles.

Her 6/10 : Not my cup of tea but It was a good film. Joaquin Phoniex is a great actor and he plays the role well.

Wolf Of Wall Street 10/10 : Absolutely a fantastic film. Was entertained from start to finish and loved the depiction of Jordan Belfort by Leo. I read the book before hand and the movie did an excellent job of portraying everything from the book.

Grudge Match 5/10 : It was over hyped in my opinion. De Niro was funny at times and Stallone played his role well. Was really expecting more of a Rocky/Raging Bull crossover.

Re-watched The Matrix. Still has some great appeal. Looking back on this Hugo Weaving definitely steals the show. Carrie Ann Moss' character is probably the best performer in the fight scenes (can't beat that opening sequence). Just never liked the very ending. Too "Superman-ish".

There is no movie that "wowed" me upon initially seeing it like The Matrix.

                        Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla (1993)

I just wasn't buying what they were selling with this one. This is basically a remake of the first Mecha Godzilla movie from the '60s with Rodan, Mecha Godzilla and Baby Godzilla involved. Basically Japan/the UN have created an organization set to destroy Godzilla with the back engineered parts of the future Mecha King Ghidorah. At the same time a scientific expedition discovers Rodan and an unhatched egg which they barely manage to escape with. The egg hatches and out comes Baby Godzilla who latches on to the female scientist overseeing the egg/him. Eventually after Mecha Godzilla loses its first battle against Godzilla they decide to use Baby Godzilla as bait for their 2nd attack.

There's lots of gobbledygook about how Baby's life needs to be protected and how they don't want him to be endangered but alas they finally have to give in. It turns out that Godzilla and Rodan are fighting for parental ownership of Baby. etc etc.

This was not a well acted movie at all and the plot was cheesy but not in a big over the top way that I can laugh at it. In a lot of ways this was very boring and I didn't like how the psychic Mike Saegusa character had a big role in this as I never really liked the whole "person who has a psychic connection to the monsters" angle.

                        I give this * 1/2 stars.

Went back and watched "A Good Year" again, with Russel Crowe at the helm. I can never put my finger on it, but something about the movie really appeals to me. Great setting, good sense of humor, and good music. That and I'm a sucker for Ridley Scott movies.

Saw Ride Along last night. I like Kevin Hart so I thought this had some potential. Honestly, thought it sucked. A few chuckles here and there, but nothing very memorable. Obviously didn't expect much from the plot but it was so cheesy and predictable that it annoyed me. Ice Cube sucks as an actor. Super disappointing.

                              Watched Knuckleball! this after noon.

Documentary profiling Dickey and Wakefield during the 2011 season and their trip to and through the bigs. No real hard hitting stuff (pun not intended) here or anything but it was entertaining.

It did nothing to quench my thirst for the season to start though.
