Brick Mansions. Remake of B13. Lots of action scenes and parkour---liked it. Was a little eerie seeing Paul Walker on the big screen again.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Watched The Other Woman with the gf. Nothing special, it could have been way funnier but it had its moments. But damn, the third chicks rack was.... Whoa.
The funniest thing to me was when I was catching girls in the theater give that look to their guy when Jamie Lannister was cheating. That "I'll cut off your balls if you do that to me" look. It was funny until my girl did the same thing but she said it out loud.
The dude behind me had a chuckle though.

Assault on Precinct 13...the John Carpenter original.
I was just kinda mesmerized by it. Good pacing and well-shot. Classic Carpenter style. The minimalist approach of some 70s films makes them more powerful.GO 'HAWKS!

The Road, with Viggo Mortensen. I was captivated from beginning to end. There's some heavy stuff in this movie.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
The book it is based on is just unreal. One of the most haunting, depressing, thought provoking things I have ever read. And it is a rather quick read, too. Written in minimalist prose that really suits the material.
But having seen the movie, there won't be any surprises for you.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Short Term 12
One of those we had 90 minutes to kill and it had a 4 star Netflix rating movies. Indie film about a halfway house for troubled teens. A kid named Lakeith Lee Stanfield stole every scene he was in. Glad I gave it a chance.
Ain't Them Bodies Saints
Another pretty good movie. I always like love stories told in non-traditional ways. Never noticed how naturally beautiful Rooney Mara is until now. She can also act her *** off.
Safety Not Guaranteed
Three for three. Cool little romantic comedy with the guy from The League and the gal from Parks & Recs. Probably never would have heard of it had I not stumbled across it because of Netflix wacky recommendation system.
Prisoners
I wanted to see this ever since seeing the trailer, then for whatever reason I totally forgot the thing existed. Story was interested enough to keep me engaged for 2+ hours. Solid acting throughout. Jake Gyllenhaal continues to be pretty consistent with solid release. One thing I'll say, movies about kids being murdered or abducted always make me uncomfortable. You see it one the news everyday, but for whatever reason I still get uncomfortable.
Four for four. That almost never happens.Comment
