Our movie night over quite some time now how has become a ritual of scrolling through all the available free movies on Netflix, Amazon, and HBOgo. Then scrolling through the new release movies on Amazon; every movie, and I mean every movie we want to watch will be one you have to buy. So after a hour we give up and watch House Hunters or something similarly stupid.

I feel as though I wrote this. Good to know this exact situation happens to other people right down to House Hunters.


Last movie I watched, I watched while my wife was out and about. It was X-Men future past . I thought it was pretty good.

Prolly try to get equalizer in this weekend if on demand. Good to hear it's decent. Also may get let's be cops since above post seems like it's not a complete waste of a comedy and surprisingly decent.

Guardians of the Galaxy is an awesome movie, even if your not into comics or superhero movies its still very enjoyable

Really enjoyed this movie. Really fun super hero film and was really emotional. I dunno if I would want a young kid to watch it though. Baymax was awesome and hope they make a sequel.

I saw American Sniper yesterday, pretty damn good. I just can't ever grasp what those people go through. I could never do it, but I am thankful there are those brave enough so I don't have to.

I want to watch Birdman, Gone Girl and Whiplash soon. From trailers Whiplash isn't a movie I would want to watch, but too many great things have been said about it.

Guardians has violence but no blood and it's really a fun movie so I would be ok with it. I think there is some cussing but not that much.

Big Hero 6 is really fun too, it's not scary or anything but the theme of the movie is death and how Hiro deals with it so it might be pretty heavy in some parts but if you think your kid can handle that then it's an awesome movie to watch with him.

The three movies you mentioned are all amazing and definitely watch them all but Whiplash became one of my favorite movies ever.

It's Full Metal Jacket meets Drumline. It hits close to home because I had a coach like Fletcher, what a ****ing *******. I also played drums and clarinet growing up so it's awesome to hear the music played by top notch musicians. Direction was fantastic too but what Jk Simmons did was so memorable.

American Sniper, incredibly powerful and moving movie... When it was over there was applause and then the packed theater exited in dead silence.. Haven't seen that since Saving Private Ryan. A must see movie IMHO.

It was the same in the theater where I went to see it. I can't remember the last time that happened for me.

Best movie I've seen in a long time.

I had been wanting to watch Frank since I first heard about it and it definitely surpassed my high expectations. Great movie.

American Sniper.

Liked it, but didn't love it. I thought the plot arc was too cliche for a war movie, but the ending was powerful.

Probably the first movie I've ever seen where the audience filed out in silence.

I think part of it has to do with the fact that they showed him meeting the guy that killed him, and it being right after his wife told him how proud she was that he fought so hard to get to where he was.

Yeah, I was wondering how Eastwood was going to depict his death, especially since Kyle's widow consulted on the film. All things considered, it was handled appropriately. It was still eerie seeing that vet with Kyle as the movie was ending.

Oh absolutely, when they showed him in the way they showed him, I was very curious as to what role he was going to play. Like, I knew something was off.

Cleaned up on Boardwalk Empire. First complete viewing puts it among my 5 favorite TV series of all-time (loved seasons 2 and 3 in particular). Probably the best ensemble cast of any TV show ever.

Liked the first two seasons of The Sopranos. James Gandolfini really dominates the show unlike any TV character in any TV show I've ever seen. Relative to the current golden age of TV we're in, the Sopranos doesn't totally stand out, but relative to what was on TV in 1999 and 2000, yeah, I can definitely see why this show is one of the GOATs.
