Glad to hear good things about this flick. I will definitely have to watch it at some point. Perhaps it may pave the way for more adult oriented animated comedies.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

I've been on a movie fest the last week. I watched:

Creed - I thought this was a fantastic movie. Don't know why it took so long for me to watch. Great job and would love a sequel.

Snow White and the Huntsman - I wanted to watch the new one so I figured I should watch this one first. To be honest I really enjoyed it. Much more then I thought I would. Charlize Theron was great as the wicked queen and I thought Kristen Stewart did good as well.

The Huntsman: Winter's War - This one was just okay. Nothing great but I was hoping for more.

The 5th Wave - This had some good to it. It was an interesting premise but it lost me on some of the story. Just didn't make sense to me. I guess it's based on a book series.

Allegiant - So, yeah, I may have read the novels lol. Don't judge. Actually the first two books were quite entertaining but the third and final book was just awful. So I was curious how the third movie would be and to be honest it was much better then the book. Not much depth here but I was entertained for two hours and at the end of the day that's all that matters.

The Jungle Book - Watched this with the kids and it is fantastic. Very well done. CGI was on point, voice actors sounded perfect to me, thought the kid did great especially considering he had to do most of his acting against a green screen and dudes reading dialogue, and it had some crazy intense scenes. Loved it.

          Bad Moms

Story-wise, it was kind of a blend between Office Space and Mean Girls, but the main character is a mom so kids are also thrown into the mix. They also upped the cursing and raunchiness to the point of ridiculousness. I mean one of the characters was there just to serve the R-rating alone. Actually, tone-wise now I'm getting a bit of a She's Out of My League vibe to it here (neither needed to be rated R). Of course, I think half of the movie's comedy would be gone without the rating, so what do I know.

I literally wouldn't have been into this movie at all if it wasn't for Mila Kunis. I just love her natural presence she brings to the screen, even with a kind of stupid movie. It doesn't separate itself from anything really, and I was left asking more questions about the overall resolution than I had answered. It was just kind of dumb, although admittedly funny in some parts. Definitely something for moms though.

            Saw this on Sunday.

That pretty much sums it up. They roasted everyone, it got super weird at the end but remembering the goofballs who made the movie it fits.

A lot more jokes then what the trailers showed too so that was good.

The Great Buck Howard. This one flew under my radar. I really liked it the more I thought about it. Not tremendous, but very good performances, of course, especially by Malkovich, who rarely doesn't deliver. It was a very unique story. Well worth a look if you've never seen it and are in the mood for a dramedy, with more emphasis on the drama.

An Eye for an Eye (1981) Chuck Norris baby! Actually it was a little weird seeing Norris without a mustache but oh well....It's not that bad of a flick as Norris plays a cop who seeks revenge after his partner is killed in the line of duty and his partner's news reporter girlfriend who also sought revenge ends up being killed in the process. As if that wasn't enough "coincidence" her father is Norris' karate trainer as well played by Mako who by far has the best lines in the movie and serves as comedic relief.

The movie had a bit of an early Steven Seagal feel to it as well which was kind of interesting with a LOT of great music and views of San Francisco and the surrounding area. If you like "turn your brains off" action (though there really wasn't that much of it) you'd like this.

We finally watched Batman v Superman and we chose to see the Directors cut.

It was good. Not my favorite DC movie. I actually liked Man Of Steel much more. I thought Affleck did a great job as Bruce Wayne and Batman. He will be a good Batman. The story was ok. I felt the plot was somewhat weak but overall an entertaining (if overly bloated) superhero flick.

Again nothing has really touched Nolan's Batman trilogy in the DC universe. I hope The Justice League can really be good. Superman needs to be universally accepted though in future movies. I am getting tired of the whole he is an alien who can destroy us at any moment take. Dude.....it's Superman. He fights for truth and justice and the American way. Enough already.
