Pitch Perfect 3 After the PP2 debacle, they did a really smart thing and captured some of what PP1 had. Featuring Fat Amy a lot more was a great move. There were some pretty goofy moments, but overall it was funny and we were entertained.

The Snowman. Now I see why the rating were so low.

Wait... are you contending that PP2 did not feature a lot of Fat Amy? Her screen time ratio compared to the others superseded her weight ratio compared to the others. That's hard to do.

Maybe I forget a bit of PP2. I just thought when she was on the screen, she was annoying. She was tolerable in the first film.

Have yet to see PP3 to have any judgment on it, though.

My 11 year old daughter and my GF love the PP movies.
I would agree that 3 was way better than 2, not sure it had anything to do with Fat Amy, I just thought the storyline was way better.

I dunno....I love the weight ratio comment () but I didn't count her seconds of on screen time to what seemed to be her LDL cholesterol levels (though it ain't looking good from any angle ya see her!). I thought PP2 was just annoying in general. Maybe they were trying to set up for PP7 and see how bringing in fresh blood would do. I thought they gave her some good lines in this one though.

            Dunkirk

Phenomenal sound, listened to it it on my Sennheiser headphones and was blown away with that and the score.

Cinematography was great but I didn’t really enjoy the movie. I kinda see what Nolan was going for but a good movie for me is having character development and there was none and didn’t care about anyone in the movie.

I’m pretty easy on movies and try to find the good in all the movies I watch but I expected a story when it came to a Nolan movie. It felt like an episode in a WW2 show.

Has anyone seen Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri? It got a 92% on RT, "universal acclaim" on Meta-Critic, and several Oscar noms including a Best Supporting for Woody Harrison.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

I missed my shot of seeing four of the BP movies this past Saturday, because I was stuck at home grading. They would have been Three Billboards, Phantom Thread, Lady Bird, and The Shape of Water. I'm upset I missed out on the opportunity.

I really want to see Three Billboards, though. Martin McDonagh has brought me my favorite dark comedy of all time (In Bruges), and this film looks right up my alley as well. I will admit that Seven Psychopaths was a slight misfire, though.

I did. I thought it was good, save for the ending. Agreed about Psychopaths.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Three Billboards was good, ending I agree with DFB, not sure how to interpret that but amazing performances by Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell. Sam always kills it so I wasn't surprised. It does get depressing though but the performances are definitely worth the watch.

Also watched Lady Bird. It's a pretty good coming of age movie but not sure why its oscar worthy. Wasn't wowed by it but the lead acted very well. It seemed like a typical teen indie movie to me, nothing that special.

                    I, Tonya,

Loved the first half but didn't really enjoy the 2nd half. I thought Margo did great but the mom played by Allison Janney was brilliant but wasn't really the 2nd half and that's probably why I didn't enjoy it that much.

I also love McKenna Grace who played young Tonya and she had a very short appearance I wished was longer. She's probably my favorite young actor out there.

Nice to see the actors performances i loved in Three Billboards and Allison Janney from I,Tonya won an Oscar. Finally Gary Oldman and Sam Rockwell get one, two of my favorite actors.

I haven't finished Shape of Water yet, got interrupted before finishing but from what I saw, its magical. Del Toro is a genius

I didn't really get the best supporting choice for Rockwell, and I love Rockwell from when I first saw him in Galaxy Quest. I need to see the competition again. I also really like del Toro a lot, but the Shape of Water for best picture? Nuh-uh. Although there was a certain symbolism, so considering Hollyweird, ya, I get their choice.

Stars Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Lattifah and Tiffany Haddish. This movie is hilarious, haven't laughed out loud like this in a long time. Tiffany Haddish is a star and just kills it the whole movie. I'm a big big fan of hers now and will see anything and everything with her.
