Dale Earnhardt. I was such a fan of his, going back to the 80's.
I cheered loudly when he finally won Daytona. After watching the 2001 Daytona 500 live, I went to sleep as I had to work graveyard shift, not thinking twice about the wreck. I figured he'd be fine.

I woke up, put on Sportscenter, and saw "Dale Earnhardt 1950-2001".

I went to work with tears in my eyes.


Also, Eddie Guerrero. I saw his last match on SD. I was stunned when they reported his death.

Captain Phil Harris of the reality show, Deadliest Catch. I felt like I knew him personally.
Plus the fact the show showed his last few moments alive....

Same here. One of my favorite drivers of all time.

Can still remember watching the race and seeing the accident like it was yesterday. Just a horrible weekend all around with Roland Ratzenberger's death, and Rubens Barrichello's terrible accident.

Owen Hart back in 1999. I wept like a baby the next night on RAW when all the wrestlers lined up on the stage for the tolling of the bell.

No death (including family and friends) has bothered me, so the idea of being hit hard by some random celebrity's death is laughable. Hell, I'm actively rooting for my mother's death at this moment.

Celebrity deaths don't effect me. Might step back for a minute to reflect on his or her career and think "damn, can't believe so and so died" but that's about it. It's not going to change my mood for the day or anything.
