Re: Celebrities Who's Death Affected You

This thread was bound to go off topic eventually and was bound to get some "None" responses eventually. OP should've known that from the get go. That's just how message boards work, like it or not.

Yikes, people are still crying about this?

If you think the 'none' answers are so blatantly inappropriate report them to the mods and quit crying about it.

Re: Celebrities Who's Death Affected You

5 pages worth of responses, so it definitely goes to show that some people are affected by the deaths of celebrities they either grew up idolizing, or just took for granted because they saw them on TV everyday. A far majority have actually named names than the people who responded with "none." I guess the majority of us are silly.

Just to clarify, being affected doesn't mean you stayed up all night crying. It could simply mean your heart sunk a little and you took a moment to reflect on them.

I think I feel a little sad when anyone dies, celebrity or not. The only time I may brush off a person's death is if they were like a convicted killer.

lol at the sensitivity some people have on internet message boards. I honestly dont know how some people make it in the real world. When you make threads you are bound to get replies you may not like and thats just how it is.

Why do you assume that because people are having a discussion about something that one or both parties are sensitive, or worked up? If someone says something, should I not respond, or should I just use a bunch of smileys so they won't be so sensitive as to think I'm the one being sensitive?

It easy to assume because of the tone and the words you use in your post. But the people you are complaining about in this thread could say the same thing as you.... "if someone says something, should I not respond?". Its a public forum....every reply may not be up your alley.

The title of the thread is, Celebrities who's death affected you.

What is wrong with people answering that question even if the answer is none?

I agree with you that others shouldn't come in and say it's silly, but if you start a thread with a question, why can't anyone post their own answer?
See, I agree with you. I really don't have a problem with the "none" posts. But the posters that go out of their way to say it's silly or pretty much call those that are effected a bunch of punks (exaggerating to make my point) just makes no sense. Then, of course, they come back to continue the argument when they already established they have no interest in the subject. The OS cliques and bullies are taking over.

                          RIP Steve McNair.

There's a thread in the football forum with folks expressing their hurt and whatnot, so miss me with that "celebrities deaths shouldn't affect people" nonsense. I wasn't a Titans fan (Bears for life) but I did use them on Madden and he was always one of the top QBs and the toughest.

Different strokes for different folks. Despite what some want to believe, there isn't a right or a wrong to the "celebrity deaths shouldn't affect people". They affect some people and don't affect others. Such is life...(except on OS where a different opinion isn't accepted anymore).

                            Hopefully that makes sense.

Definitely makes sense. My whole issue was the people who try to attack others who are affected. Not everyone's death had an impact on me. When Kurt Cobain died, I had no idea who he was at the time (I was about 13), but I'm not gonna diss the people who were affected because he obviously had a lot of fans and a following.

well, to stay on topic, michael jackson has been tough because his music got me through some tough times as well as good ones. john ritter was a shocker for me as well. he just seem like such a great guy ...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...
