Re: *** Lost: Season 6 (Final Season) ***

At some point the circle was broken by someone dragging their foot across it by accident. I can't recall if it was Locke, Hurley, or someone else. I also don't recall exectly when it happened.

Guess I'll be scouring all of the past seasons on DVD that bought a few weeks back. Target had them all on sale for $17 each. I couldn't resist, becuase this is one of those shows that I will go back to and watch again

I'm sure it was Locke, Ben or Hurley. Because when that new "Jacob Task Force" went to the cabin the circle had been broken.
But who did it release? Or did it allow Smokey to get in?

I can't remember now, but which structure/building was it where smokey slept?
Wasn't there an episode where the french travelers got sucked into a building and came out brainwashed or different?

EDIT: nevermind. I found on Lostpedia that it was in the outer wall of the Temple where smokey dragged the french travelors.

One thing that really intrigues me is how after Rousseau's companions were dragged in by the smoke monster they became 'sick' and weren't themselves. "Robert claimed it wasn't a monster at all, but a security system guarding the Temple".
Locke said the same thing after he was dragged away by it.
Did that exchange with smokey change Locke also?

Was the dust put there to trap the MIB? But like you said, that doesn't make sense. Because we had seen the smoke monster and Christian several times before that.

I hope that secret is revealed by seasons end.
Because to me, it sounds like that was the MIB in there and he was asking for John's help.

Or what about when Hurley peered into the window of the cabin:

Was Jacob talking with the MIB/Christian? If so, why was the MIB in Christian form?

This is why I'm wondering if the smoke monster and the MIB are separate entities.
Who else was in that cabin with Christian?

Another thing that bothers me is the fact that the Others followed Jacob religiously. And yet they murdered as well.
I just don't see Jacob as the type to request murder from his people? Or were the Others acting out on their own?
Or have the Others secretly been taking orders from the MIB? Perhaps that's why 'Locke' told them he was very disappointed with them. That they didn't do what he really wanted them to do?
Maybe they never followed Jacob, maybe it was the MiB and this is why Ben never saw "jacob" until he saw the real Jacob....Maybe the MiB cannot be seen unless he is in a form of a body???

Heres the other thing....isnt it entirely possible Jacob is the bad and MiB is the good guy.

So many questions it could make you go nuts.

The only one I really am thinking about is why the Island is underwater. My wife said that it was because the Hydrogen Bomb "blew it up" and I thought that was a reasonable explanation but then it never happened, right? Did the Polar ice caps melt or something?

Highly plausible and it would mean that everyone has been duped because the Others truly believe they are the good guys.

You even see how they react when they find out that the Monster is loose and could be headed to the temple. They feel he's evil, but maybe he's not.

That would be a big twist!
But I'm not sure about that. It was the MIB that wanted to murder Jacob. It was also he who said that man will come to war, fight, etc but Jacob retorted with patience and kindness.

                  But you never know.
All I know is that I'm more confused than ever about whether the Others really followed Jacob or the MIB.
Afterall, Ben was able to summon the black smoke when the mercenaries had taken over their little village.
Christian has been giving all of them advice. And so far, it's only the black smoke that has shown the ability to take over the form of dead people.

Also, someone asked if the MIB or Smokey can be in more than one spot at a time.
This could be possible. There are times where smokey broke apart into 3 clouds. I remember the time Kate and Julliete were running from it and got behind the sonar fence. The smoke monster stopped and then broke apart into 3 separate clouds. Could it also take on the form of 3 separate people?

On a Lost podcast it was revealed that it was the smoke monster that took on the shape of the spiders that paralyzed that couple who were buried alive.

Perhaps MIB/Smokey have a lot more powers than we think.

And not only that, but the handwoven cloth of the statue was left in the cabin for Ilana and her group to see. We learned in last season's finale about Jacob's ability to hand weave and make the thread himself. And that he was living in the base of the statue.

I was so ready to talk about how the explosion did happen because it's the reason we have this alternate timeline where the Losties never land on the Island. There's no button to push, no threat for a crash.

But, now I'm thinking that the alternate time lines always happen. The flash-sideways we're watching isn't the result of the explosion. It's just one of many alternate time lines that's being shown to us. In this timeline, the Island is underwater and Desmond never lands on the Island because he obviously can't. There's no DHARMA Initiative, no Hanso Foundation funding the research or even a Charles Widmore.

Having said that, this time line is important because for some reason it's the only time line that Jack realizes something is not quite right. And now I see why Matthew Fox had to know the ending of the show. He has to know why his character will do the things he's going to do - whatever they may be.

Because let's face reality here: somehow, someway, this alternate time line is going to come into play with the time line we know. Something is going to happen with Jack X that gets him to realize that there's an Island and he needs to get there or that he needs to save Jacob. Something.

I'm not sure we can say that. I was sure that during the underwater pan-shot they showed the Dharma homes, swing sets, etc. down there too. Not just the foot.
But how on earth could that explosion sink the island? Very odd.

I thought this but I don't see how they can justify all the death he has brought to the island. Protecting the island... maybe?

Still, tough pill to swallow given his actions.

But how on earth could that explosion sink the island? Very odd.
You're right. There's also the DHARMA shark.

What I was trying to do was say that anything could be different.

Still, tough pill to swallow given his actions.
Do you think that maybe he kills people that pose a threat to him being right about things always ending the same?

Probably doesn't make sense. Why keep Jack alive then?
