The whole Walt, Claire, Tail people, others, magic box, etc. We don't have answers and probably won't. They need to agree to write some conclusion after the season to tie it all up.

Walt will probably be answered. Claire is in this season so she will be answered. Tail people - um...what exactly are you looking to know about them? The only mystery is Libby, really. The others? We know quite a bit about the Others. In fact, we had a whole season about them. The magic box? I'm pretty sure that was a figure of speech. They went and kidnapped his dad.

Lindelof has joked that half the audience will feel that the finale is the worst finale of all-time.

And I think he's right. Half the audience will be disappointed. That's just the way it goes.

Walt is probably the only one from that list I'm annoyed by. He was a pretty big deal for the first two seasons and then he hardly meant a thing. Who knows, there's still time for him to have an impact or be explained. Claire is a minor character, I assume she's dead, but I don't care one way or another about her.

Normally, I'd agree with you, but I don't think that's the case for this particular series.

I feel that the audience will judge the quality of the finale by the number of questions answered.

Some people will certainly do that but I'm not sure that'll be a majority of the viewers. I just want the major questions to have a good, creative answer. I could honestly care less what happened to Claire and other little, untied things. You can nitpick any show, especially one as complicated as Lost, but I'm not that difficult to please when it comes to this stuff.

I agree with both of you. While the loose ends might not get solved, the level of polish and scope of the series blows everything else everput on TV completely out of the water.

Haha at Frogurt just passed out asleep while John and Boone were chatting it up. All I could do that whole time was scream "Frogurt!"

I hope you're right, but my experience with LOST fans is that most complain about the questions not being answered. It's how every conversation starts about the series.

I think either side is fooling themselves if they don't think at least half will disagree with their opinion.

Like LionsFan pointed out: it'll be compared to Battlestar Galactica. I've heard about 50/50 splits on the opinion of the finale. I still need to watch that series...

And to comment on USF: no matter what, LOST has one of the deepest storylines in television history. Everyone knows that ABC will spin it off someway (either through books, comics, or something). Lindeloff and Cuse may not answer questions, but someone will.

Can you elaborate on this? I've heard BG mentioned quite a few times now in regards to the end of Lost. What was the deal with the end of BG?

the thing about LOST is that it is a "story". So unlike sopranos or most other shows, there is like a beginning and an end to this so I think it will be different than what people expect. Think of it more as a movie I guess. The movie ends, it wraps up the story that was told for the previous 2 hours. Some ending suck, but more often than not, a good or great movie isnt going to have a crappy ending, cause then it wouldnt be a great movie.

did that make sense? LoL im confusing myself. Either way I think that even though people dont realize it right now, the 1 thing they want to know more than all else is "how does it end?" They are just preoccupied with numbers and smoke monsters for now. I think when it ends, whether or not they go into the numbers, etc wont even matter to people cause they will know how it all ends. The numbers, etc most of that is what people are trying to use to figure out how the story ends or what it all means, and once they find that out in the series finale, the other "mysteries" aka "clues" wont matter. thats my impression at least.
