I was a little disappointed that it didn't have a true purpose, but I thought it was a great episode. Kenny Rogers book on CD was hilarious and the tantrum stuff was awesome.

I loved Tantrum....still not feeling Robin and Barney storylines though, hope they do something different with them soon b/c they're both amazing when they're side characters to Ted or Marshall.

The writers aren't dumb. I think Robin and Barney will break up soon. Barney's face after Ted says I love being single made me think that.

I think the writers are dumb or at least lazy. This show is a far cry from how it used to be.

I expect they will break up this season as well but then one must wonder wtf the point was to even bring them together other than to have some filler and turn off some hardcore fans.

You had Robin date ted and break up now she dates another of the group? May as well have Marshall cheat with her to complete it. Hell, maybe they'll have Ted start humping her again for the 3rd time.

I enjoyed the ep last night and as a Canadian it was nice to see Timmy's represented though it made me crave some doughnuts.

Oh and I know it is always done as a joke but I find the accent people give to Canucks when trying to poke fun in movies/shows to be weird. I have never heard a single person in my entire 31 years of life here talk like that. I am sure maybe people on the far east coast may have that accent but to continually use the accent as a joke for how CDNs speak is weird. It'd be like me saying every american talks with a southern drawl.

I really enjoy this show, the problem is, the main plot line cant be focused on but a few times a year. We all know what the ultimate goal is (normally sitcoms have no goal). So they have to have these filler episodes to fill the gap between the 3 episodes a year that get us where we are going.

The filler is generally the best part. The mother storyline is usually the worst.

I think the mother storyline has been pretty good thus far. Sure there have been some "slow" episodes, but over all I think the storyline has been good.

Just my opinion but I think this show is much funnier when it ISN'T trying to advance a storyline (the find the mother or any other subplot) or, for the most part, teach a lesson about "growing up".

Bit's like the slap bet, Robin's ****ty TV job and Barney's mannerisms are the strongest parts of the show. When mining that vein it reminds me of the best "Seinfeld" episodes. When it goes the other way....It reminds me of "The Single Guy".

I agree for the most part.

Season 1 contained just about all of the good storyline episodes. Season 2 and the first 75% of season 3 had little if any storyline advancement and was my favorite part of the show. The only storyline episode I really like is the one where they make fun of New Jersey
