I understand that. What I mean is that I would like to see an episode that ties in with a following episode or at least has some story about it that is not just random crap all the time. Ya this stuff has been funny at times, but they can dig a little deeper. Don't get me wrong, I still like the show. I just prefer the past seasons to this.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 5
I don't mind not focusing on the mother, but stop focusing on Barney and Robin...
They are brutal together...
Even when not focusing on the mother aspect of Ted's life but just things like his job and love life, the show is so much better imo.Comment

Who cares about the mother as long as it is funny and entertaining, it is a sitcom for heavens sake.I understand that. Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 5
I don't think people would view the season as badly as they do right now if they didn't focus on Barney and Robin so much. Everything they do has been done before on the same show: Ted was just as cheesy and relationshippy with some of his old ex's, Marshall used to give ted the same advice as he's giving these two, other couples have had the same fights, and Ted worked just as hard to get to know Stella as barney did in the robin 101 episode.
The only difference is that the other characters had chemistry and they weren't mutating the character like they are with Barney. Other than this, I don't think the season has been horrible, just not as memorable as seasons past.My football alliances: E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles AND Hokie Hokie Hokie HiComment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 5
I didn't say anything about the mother in that post. Just give me a story with some meaning...doesn't have to be about the mother. The road trip one this season was pretty well done. This is my opinion, doesn't mean that the show sucks or I'm hating on people who enjoy it.Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 5
I thought Monday's episode was really good and I've been happy with the quality of the episodes this season. I at least want something to happen to Ted, though. Robin and Barney are ok, but they don't need to be the focus every episode.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 5
I think they did a really good job with the show tonight. The way they told the breakup story was done well. The part where they revealed what Robin and Barney really saw when they looked out the window was a very nice touch. Good overall episode in terms of quality of writing and humor. Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 5
The scene in the car with the "storm trooper", sausage guy, Alan Thicke, and the girl was easily one of the funniest scenes ever in this show. I laughed for over a half hour after it was over. Just hysterical.Comment
