    Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

Google Android phones must be popular - they've just been targeted with their first Trojan. An SMS Trojan called Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer.a has already infected a number of mobile devices, according to security firm Kaspersky Lab. Purporting to be a harmless media player application, the Trojan, once installed, actually sends out SMS text messages without the users' knowledge or consent. The Trojan penetrates Android-based smartphones disguised as an ordinary application, says Kaspersky. Users are prompted to install a small file of around 13 KB that has the standard Android extension .APK. But once the "app" is installed on the device, the Trojan bundled with it begins texting premium rate phone numbers (those that charge). The criminals are actually the ones operating these numbers, so they end up collecting the money via charges to the victims' accounts.
Careful what you're downloading, Android users. Play it safe and download strictly from the market.

mmmmmmmm a 5 inch phone......too bad it is on At&t though. They aren't that great where I live. But wow to think about it though, one would have to get a man bag to carry that thing around. No way can I see that phone fitting in somebody pocket.

That is too big for me. The Cap is big enough already, but it is light and it had a nice feel. I am pretty sure I will get that phone, unless I really like the BB Torch.

If you downloaded 2.2 last week(from a website), apparently that wasn't the final version they will be pushing out this week.

Need a new phone, went with sprint, can't beat there 69.99 a month deal.

Plus Sprint TV and NFL mobile, I'm excited about both of these.

Sprint doesn't have NFL Mobile anymore, it's only on Verizon phones, sorry.

Haha, indeed. Their Sprint Football mobile is the same exact app as the NFL Mobile one. Just doesn't say NFL anymore. Though, they probably won't have live streams anymore... ****. Just thougght of that, lol.

it's still all good, the sprint plan is still better there what Verizon is offering.

Agreed... I have the moment myself, until the **** comes out at least.

Also, Verizon's NFL Mobile apk has already been put onto an HTC Evo 4g and made to work.

EDIT: Why the hell is E P I C censored for christ's sake?

It's better for now, eventually all 4 of the major carriers going to have the same price plan.

No they won't dude. That will NEVER happen. AT&T is already making data tiers, and Verizon is going to roll them out shortly according to their roadmap.

My brother got the update yesterday morning OTA and it's the same one I manually put on my Droid last week.
