I am getting the other party in the groups messages and my wife and the other party can see mine and hers, but I can't see hers.

Any idea why? I haven’t changed any settings and like I said, this was never an issue before. I tried to clear the cache and data and nothing.

    Thanks!

EDIT: Seems to be only when my wife replies to the group message. We have tried two different group messages and I get the other parties text, but when my wife replies, her says "couldn't download" and goes individually to me. But the other people in those groups are getting her messages. Thoughts?
So I had my wife download Google Messenger and I received her text in group texts this time. So I am guessing it's something to do with the update she got on her Note 4 and the stock messenger app she is using. Maybe a setting got switched after the update?

      Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

I just read a rumor and take it with the biggest grain of salt possible, but the rumor says Samsung might be giving up on the Note 7 and rushing out the Galaxy S8 asap. Apparently the evidence is that two new model numbers have appeared and supposedly the screens are already being made.

In a way it makes sense because of all the lost money due to the Note 7 issue and how much it would cost to fix the issue and then manufacture millions more Notes.

It was said that pushing up the GS8 could recoup a lot of that money.

I think it's possible they might move up the GS8 but I don't see them giving up on the Note 7.

If they do give up on the Note, should I just get the S7/S7 Edge?

I would try to hold out for another week or two just to see what happens. I've been thinking about grabbing a S7 Edge myself but I really like the new 'grace' version of touchwiz on the Note 7. Looks so much better than the GS7'ui. And if the GS8 is really coming soon I may just wait for that.

            I love my Note 7.

T-Mo is sending me a loaner phone to use until Note 7 replacements are ready.

Either way, my free Gear Fit 2 arrives today.

The beauty, other than the bad press, I get to try out dif phones that I normally would never give a shot... at no cost. LGV10, albeit old, is on its way.

Coming for a LG G3, I'm really enjoying the V10.

Verizon isn't giving loaners for the Note 7.

I really liked the Note 7 myself, thought about keeping it until new ones arrive but would hate to be one that has to deal with it catching fire. I got the S7 Edge and I like it ok but I really want my Note 7 back.

I bought a Spigen case for the Note 7 and have my Edge in it, of course it's a little smaller but better than having nothing.

New Note 7's are supposed to be rolling out by the 21st or sooner.

Not sure if this is just for exchanges or if you will be able to order or walk into a store and buy one.

                    Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

Last week when my wife would send me a group message, I would receive a kickback to just our thread that says “”Couldn’t download” we have been using group messages forever. I could see the other peoples message, they could see my wifes and mine and my wife can see mine and theirs, but I couldn't get my wifes messages. I eventually had her download Google Messenger and I started getting her messages in group message again. So today I text a friend, who has stock android message app and another friend. When one of my friends replied back, it came back as the same message “Couldn't download”, same situation, only came to my thread as the error. Anyone have an idea why?

EDIT: I just had two co-workers text me, one is iphone and the other is a Galaxy S5, stock messenger, and I got both messages. I don't know what is going on.

EDIT (2) - Just had wife switch back to stock and got the error again when she messages me, but from Google messenger, no problem. But some of my other friends are using stock android messenger and no errors, but from another friend, stock android, I get an error. So weird and frustrating.

Edit (3) - Something not playing right with Goolge messenger. I download Textra and had the same people message me and it went through. So I guess I'll switch back to Textra.

I just read Pixel X (32GB) would be $649 at retail, wut!? I was getting the itch, but very doubtful I bite at that price.

That's normal for out of contract. My Nexus 6 was $600

I guess I expected a bit cheaper ala Nexus 6P. Which was $450 brand new.

Plus, this is for the X model at the smallest 32gb. How much is the XL 128gb going to be?

I'm worried that people will sell them on sites like eBay claiming its "gen2" when it's really "gen1..."

There is gonna be a way to tell the safe versions apart from the unsafe ones. On the safe ones the battery indicator on the screen will be green. And there will also be something etched on the back to show it as well.

So it's kinda buyer beware with ebay and such. It's on the customer to make sure they are buying the right device imo.
