Just checked on that particular Sony combo. This was from a owner of the system:
"Subwoofer placement- If you are going to place the subwoofer next to a TV stand, it can only go on the right (facing the TV) because of the placement of the speaker on the side of the subwoofer.

The amplifier is built in to the Subwoofer cabinet, so it must have a clear line of sight to the remote control, and you have to be able to see the display on the front of the unit to tell which mode you are in. No hiding the subwoofer."

As far as cables set up. Run one HDMI cord from each source (PS3, HD box, blu ray player, etc) up to 3---into the sound bar. Then run 1 HDMI cable from the soundbar to your tv. That's it.

Does your 360 have HDMI? If not, you'll also need a optical cable for digital sound.

Congrats bro. Don't forget to lower your contrast.

My parents have the 720p version, so i don't think you'll be disappointed.

Trying to get some optimal settings. Seems like everywhere I look they are very different.

So far I am very impressed. The black levels are amazing!!

What ever you do keep your contrast settings below 50 until you have @ least 50-75 hours. This will help you avoid burn-in. It will also help with Image Retention. Also try to use FULL SCREEN Images during that time. This will allow the prosphers to age evenly which helps you to get a fairlt accurate image. Congrats on your purchase & enjoy-it..

LOL HDMI receivers run anywhere from $280-1500 depending on the manufacturer and how many bells and whistles it has. Mine is obviously on the low end of that scale but it gets the job done.

I am seeing some strange stuff. Some blips on the screen, almost looks like static at times. Not sure if this is normal or what. Sears has a 15% restocking fee so Im not sure what to do. This on HD channels fyi. I am using OTA HD right now.
