So silly. And this is why Apple Stock is what it is. Their customers are mindless gerbils.

It's comical. There has been no real reason I'd need to replace my iPad 2. They're a little faster with better screens now, but doesn't stop me from doing anything on what I have.

I wish I had that much disposable money.

My wife and I are rolling with iPad 2's and iPhone 4's. I don't mind being a generation or two behind these Apple products. Great value.

The camera in the ipad 2 is embarrassing for a device made in the last 5 years, easily the biggest reason I'd want to upgrade ours.

Perhaps, but I never use the camera....the front facing one is good enough for the few times I video Skype, and we've never run into a situation where we used the rear camera. We just use our phones if we need a real camera.

I agree it's crappy, but aside from chatting I haven't found much use for tablet videos....

I miss my iPad 2. I gave it away not needing it much. Now things have changed and I wouldn't mind having another :-(

In still rocking my iPad 1, and its fine. The hard truth is that 99% of apps will never use the processor power that the new devices come with, and the ones that do not interest me.

I use my iPad to basically read books, watch tv shows, and surf the web. Te 1 still does it flawlessly.

When some AAA games actually start coming to the App Store (and this will happen), ill upgrade then.

Got a question for you guys concerning the ipad 2 and mini.

Read that they are basically the same type just the mini is well. The smaller one but both have the same display, same processor.

I'm a big guy with big hands. So handling the bigger one wouldn't be a problem.

Which one would you recommend?

Am I missing anything that one does better than the other?

If the mini had a retina display, I would seriously consider it for a portable gaming/reading device.

Watch, as soon as these new hybrid pads start to get hot and start selling Apple is going to make one. Hybrid pads are the future, I can see people wanting an all-in-one pad verses having a laptop and iPad. Right now they are claiming they do not have plans to make a hybrid pad (though they may be lying), we will see about that in a year or two.

I pretty much replaced my laptop with my iPad. If watchespn would allow directv then I'm not sure I'd ever open the laptop again.

You must dont do much productivity work on your iPad. The iPad is fine for people who just surf the web most of the time.

But when it comes go getting work done, its a hassle with the iPad. like u cant get the complete version of Photo Shop CS5, high graphics video editing is not possible, it lacks multi tasking, lacks drag and drop files feature. Cant run Microsoft Office on it, and the physical keyboard is the prefered method of typing for people who type alot. Lacks storage space, a lot of websites dont completely work on iPads (especially when applying for jobs), and a lot of the apps are watered down versions instead of the complete desktop/laptop version because the iPad is not powerful enough. Bottom line, if you have a iPad you need another computer rather its a desktop, MAC, or laptop, if you dont have one, youl be using someone elses.
These hybrid pads are coming out with i5 and i7 processors, 4-8 gigs of RAM, able to run a the full version of Windows 8, and all the products in the Microsoft Office suite. Flash and USB, people wont have to bother with trying to find out alternate ways to get things done.

Going to get the iPad mini on Friday. Looked all over Craigslist for an iPad 2 for decent coin, but it is spammed out. This wait is going to be balls, I miss my iPad so much.
