For those who've read the books: would it ruin my viewing experience if I started to read the books? I'm thinking of getting the books on my iPad and reading the first book after the season ends. Would it complement the show more if I did that?

Also, episode 3 was pretty "meh". Some cool developments here and there but nothing too exciting. I am getting a hang of all the characters' names though!

I enjoyed episode 3. However, I like to learn more about the characters.

              Just some quick notes:
-The Bastard is becoming one of my favorites. I enjoyed all of the scenes at the wall. Especially, the two scenes where they were sparring.

-Stark and his daughter were great too. It was interesting to hear his thoughts on the prince. Also, I thought it was cool that he's letting her train. I have a feeling that she's going to be something special.

-The Winter is coming was explained in more detail which was great for us non-book readers

-The evolution of the Daenerys is incredible. I have a feeling she's going to turn into a bad***. Plus, finding out the she's preger's & how they put her brother put in his place was all awesome stuff.

              - I love the new characters they introduced, as well. Carcetti from The Wire & Father Ashby from SoA FTW

That's just a few things that stick out to me and while I admit it was a bit slow but, still great nonetheless

I also loved this episode. It might have been my favorite. Really digging the character development.

For all those concerned it is slow. Don't worry, there needs to be some character development.

There will be lots of intersting things to come in this season.

For the person asking about reading the book. I think you have a good idea. I would watch the episodes and then read the book personally.

Yeah, I can feel it swelling. I really liked the third episode, can't wait for the next episode.

Perhaps I'll buy the book by the end of the season then! If it doesn't take me long, maybe I'd read book 2 before season 2.

Good to hear! I appreciate character development but IMO, episode 3 just wasn't as packed story-wise like the first two episodes. As a LOST fan, I know what slow developments and stalling mean.

'Game of Thrones' ratings rise for first time!

HBO should kill a wolf every week!

Despite the previous week’s untimely direwolf death that rankled some viewers, HBO’s Game of Thrones rose in the ratings for the first time Sunday night.

The show’s Sunday’s 9 p.m. airing was seen by 2.4, up from the past two week’s 2.2 million.

Sunday night’s airings may have been impacted somewhat by Osama bin Laden’s death announcement on the West Coast, though the show had finished on the East Coast before the news leaked. For those who missed it, here’s the recap:

For what I'm looking for in a show, this show has the potential to be the best ever. We'll have to see if it can sustain its excellence for several years.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

The Borgias lost points with me Sunday when they had Emanuelle Chirqui play the biggest slut in Italy and she didn't even get naked.

Thrones on the other hand has an actual porn star in its cast. We'll be seeing her in a few eps.
