The show would never last without Skarsgard, Eric is the coolest character there. I have a feeling there will be a loophole to keep him alive, as senseless as that sounds, if the sun kills Russell but not him. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a fakeout, where he's presumed dead but comes back at the very end of the episode. I'm pretty sure he doesn't die in the books, not that the show has to follow the books to the tee.

I haven't liked how little they've played up Russell vs. the human population. I felt it could have been a Magneto/Mutants vs. humans type storyline, like in X2, but it kind of just started in the later episodes and never really developed.

The werewolves on the show were terrible (what the hell ever happened to Alcide anyways? He just disappeared). But I think you guys are right, they didn't want the show to be too associated with Twilight.

I really wish werewolves were stronger in this series. I know they don't want to bring in the Twilight comparisons (Eric would whoop some glittering vamp ***), but when werewolves are pretty much the weakest thing on the show it seems kind of meaningless to bring them into the storyline.

Couldn't they just give Sook some vampire blood, she wakes up and goes out and covers Eric with a blanket letting Russell burn to death? Or is that too simple?

Or why can't Sookie stake Russel and then Eric can come inside. Eric told Bill he had a plan so I would assume that plan involved him figuring out a way to keep himself alive.

LOL...yeah that was my reaction. I felt the whole episode was bland. Wasn't a great way to finish such a spectacular season. The whole Russell death dragged on and it's like the writers are toying with Eric's character.

To me it was ever since Russell killed that anchor.

Unfortunate because I liked the foundation upon which the show was built on. Everything has been a bit off since what I mentioned above.

Don't know if it can pick itself up again, but I have the feeling I will lose interest in the series just like most other shows I've liked initially.

My one question: WTF was that dead baby laying on the floor of Hoyt's new house? that ish had me cracking up.... just a random corpse laying there.

When I first saw that scene, it had some kind of connection to Summer. If you remember, she had a doll fetish when we saw her and Hoyt at Merlotts. That's my guess and also wondering where Hoyt was going with the gun.

Hopefully Tara leaves the show and sad they didn't go into detail about the were-panthers and Alcide just feels like a throw-in this season.

Next season would probably be better if it was just a prequel where Eric and Godric just run around killing people for a thousand years.

Yikes. Last night's episode was probably one of the worst finales I've seen. I've always been a big True Blood supporter but, I'm afraid it's going to go down a road similar to what Nip/Tuck did.

I can't believe that was a finale. That was absolutely TERRIBLE.

Why would you end the season that way? You want the "OH, what's gonna happen next time" reaction not the, "That's it?"
