I agree about the werewolf thing, why in the world would any werewolf ever attack a vampire if they always get destroyed every time? It'd be like us humans seeing a shark in the ocean and diving in and trying to attack it, LOL. I am wondering if they are saving up a great "OH CRAP!" moment where a werewolf does kill a vampire. It'd be a great moment if you were sure the werewolf was a dead man but ended up winning the fight. I'm thinking maybe that is what they are setting up for Alcide since he's the most likable werewolf.

That's why he attacked the AVL publicly because he thinks they're protecting Eric.

Re: True Blood Season 3
Great and amazing ending tonight! That pretty much puts this show on a whole new level. One thing you don't want to do with a show is keep being repeative and Alan Ball & the writers do a good job keeping the show fresh.
Tommy is getting annoying and I feel the audience was cheated with the Franklin character because he could have been more helpful to the show but being stick to Tara makes me boring and forgetable.Comment

Re: True Blood Season 3
Because it's entertaining.
There are some shows that I take seriously but True Blood isn't included. HBO's current Sunday night programing is very fun to watch, but I enjoy it far more when I just go with whatever ridiculous plots they throw out from week to week instead of over analyzing the writers' every point.Comment

Re: True Blood Season 3
Before that scene, as "fictional" as the storyline has been... really it stayed within a certain context. It didn't cross certain "beyond reason" lines.
The one thing that saved the scene for me was the "and back to you Amber for the weather"..Comment

Right, I agree that this isn't a program to really take "seriously" however it did cross the line into pure ridiculousness when Russell showed up on live TV and ripped dude's spine out.

Re: True Blood Season 3
We can go in circles about the "well how come that was unrealistic to you when you're watching a show about vampires" dynamic
but that would be dumb even by message board standards.
Basically I've already explained myself.
As "mythical" as the show is I've only a few times been like "hmmmm, now that was a bit ridiculous".
One of the big moments I recall was back when the entire town became under a spell. I was like "now how the hell wouldn't the rest of the country notice that?"
Then there's tonight's closing scene. Sort of floored the gas pedal.Comment
