This is Dexter we are talking about, it always starts off slow. Although if it doesn't pick up next episode I will be worried. I could have not watched last nights episode and I wouldn't have missed anything important story wise.

Re: Dexter (Season 5)
Lots of little things happening that are important for all the arcs, which is cool.
The only thing that bothered me was Lumen staying. There's no real explanation for her staying in Miami. Are we supposed to believe that she didn't board her flight because the female security guard was patting her down? I mean, that's what it basically tells us because that's the last thing we saw and then she stays in Miami.
It also makes very little sense because she should expect to see more ogling eyes in that state unless the real problem is most men in Miami are more interested in hotter looking girls. Yea, that probably explains why she felt like staying."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I was hoping Luman was gone for good. Oh well.. spoiler from next weeks previewsSpoilerAny chance that Dexter kills her after she murders that guy?
Also, that whole Laquerta going undercover crap was about the worst bit of writing I've seen from Dexter. I mean, come on! She's not going to tell her husband that she's going under cover. JeezMy 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

It doesn't make sense that she wouldn't tell her husband that she's working undercover, no matter the situation. Her explanation was so horrible they purposely had the precinct call them in because no one knew where to go with her dumb excuse."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Dexter (Season 5)
Just watched last night's episode an hour ago. It was a decent episode but they're really setting things up for later in the season. I hope they can live up to it, otherwise this season will have been a failure.
I REALLY hope they don't push Lumen on as some type of love interest for Dexter, but I get the feeling after the airport scene that that's where they'll be going.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Dexter (Season 5)
The real issue is that there is still no reasoning for her actions. She says she's going to go back home, goes to security checkpoint and suddenly she's on cab back into Miami-Dade.
I get it that she's afraid of something; there's something not right about her being home. But, her motivation to return to Miami-Dade isn't clear when she seemed accepting that going to Minnesota was the right move.
We're just supposed to accept that she didn't go and not ask questions. The entire episode was full of scenarios that the writers did not know how to answer so they just skimmed right through it."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Dexter (Season 5)
The hand search by the female security guard, coupled with paranoid delusions of men leering at her prompted her to stay in Miami. It's pretty clear, even if you think the writing's a bit weak.Comment

Re: Dexter (Season 5)
I know she's messed up and has been through a lot, but a female searching her is going to prompt her to not board a flight? The act was already done. What would be more believable is her to turn away before the search.
Actually, an even better motivation would be her on the flight and experiencing those things. That would equate flight to pain. The girl goes to a coffee shop every day. There are people there every day. I don't buy the ogling eyes for a second. Not strong enough."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. That's weak because she can see people looking at her all the time.
