LoG's latest album has been on repeat for me over the past few days.

If you're into metal.. this is the best you're going to get today. This band continues to set the bar for what I consider "Pure American Metal"... nothing beats the Ashes of the Wake album, but they still outshine the rest in 2015... I still remember the 2005 show in Atlanta at the Masquerade.

Somehow, NSP continues to one up themselves. And their epic "6969" (inspired by Rush's "2112") is probably the best song they have ever done (yeah, it's funny, but it's good music....plus Michael Starr from Steel Panther does vocals in the song).

Today, they released the video for Cookies!, and they did shoot a video for 6969 that will be released later.

Been listening to a lot of Them Crooked Vultures this past couple of months, not sure why considering it's neither new or recently discovered, it's just been my go to. 90% of what I listen to these days is on in the background while I play Destiny, actually surprised I haven accidentally started singing (more often, usually catch it) while on mic.

Silversun Pickups just released a video for a song off of their new album. I'm pretty excited for the album, I loved Swoon and Carnavas. Even Neck of the Woods was a high quality album, too.

Dr. Dre | 2001: I decided I spent this week getting HYPE for Straight Outta Compton. TBQH I like this a hell a lot more than I like The Chronic. It drops off around track 15, which let’s be honest, there’s no reason why any album, especially a rap album, should be 23 *** **** songs long, but the first half of the album bangs. 7.7/10 Fav Songs: The Watcher, Still D.R.E, XXsplosive, Forgot About Dre, The Next Episode
Dr. Dre | The Chronic: I don’t want to come out and call it overrated, because it’s still good and has it’s place in rap history, but it’s not going to appear on any list of the 10 best rap albums ever. Most important maybe, but not flat out best. At least it’s not 23 songs. 7.5/10
Fav Songs: **** Wit Dre Day, Nuthin’ But A G Thang, Rat-Tat-Tat-Tat, Stranded On Death Row

Kendrick Lamar | To Pimp A Butterfly: It’s just not as good as good kid, m.A.A.d city, and that’s okay, because right now this is still a top 10 album of the year for me, and only A$AP put out a better rap record. The only bad thing I can say about this record is my god the hook to Institutionalized is bad/annoying. **** DON’T CHANGE UNTIL YOU GET UP AND WASH YOUR ***. Also, the intro isn’t the greatest in the world. 8.5/10
Fav Songs: For Free?, King Kunta, These Walls, u, Alright, The Blacker The Berry, i, Mortal Man

Ab-Soul | Control System: Straight trash. Ab-Soul is just a conspiracy theorist Wiz, and it’s as annoying as it sounds. **** a delivery. The three best songs feature Danny Brown, Q, and Kendrick all separately. Just stick to Kendrick’s features Soul. Don’t @ me telling me how good it really is. 4/10
Fav Songs: Track Two, Terrorist Threats, Sopa, Illuminate

Wilco-Star Wars: Drove my dad somewhere so I 86’d the (c)rap music for some front-heavy dad rock. 7.3/10
Fav Songs: More…, Random Name Generator, The Joke Explained, You Satellite, King Of You

N.W.A. | Straight Outta Compton: The detour didn’t last long, I came back to the movie hype train and decided to get blunt with it. BTW, Eazy E was the best member of N.W.A. alright agreed awesome. 9.6/10
Fav Songs: Straight Outta Compton, Gangsta Gangsta, 8 Ball, Express Yourself, Dopeman

Jason Isbell | Something More Than Free: I had to wake up early for work so I slowed it down by…a lot. But there’s no such thing as a “mediocre” song here, just songs that are slightly better than other songs. I haven’t related to a song as much I related to Speed Trap Town since Rearviewmirror. I can honestly see Flagship being an option for my first dance at my wedding. 9.4/10
Fav Songs: 24 Frames, Flagship, The Life You Chose, Something More Than Free, Speed Trap Town, Hudson Commodore

Dr. Dre | Compton: Still need a few more spins to get a better grip on how I feel about this record. I can say it has it’s mind-blowing moments, and parts that just needed to be left on the cutting room floor (like, the skits, especially the drowning bit). But Kendrick’s verses are incendiary. Tentative Rating: 8/10

Kendrick Lamar | Section.80: I had to come back to King Kendrick after listening to Compton. I don’t wanna go off on a tangent on how good this is and how amazing it is that he one upped himself after this (gkmc is a perfect 10 in my book) so I’ll just cut to the chase and call it a 9.5/10
