Phil Collins | No Jack Required: It's crazy how much I can listen to Sussudio and not be fully convinced it isn't a Neon Indian song. Like all Phil Collins, this **** is p. good. 8.4/10

CHVRCHES | Every Open Eye: Still not quite ready to slap it with the 10/10 honor, but it's def. in the running for AOTY.

The Cure | Wild Mood Swings: First time playing a Cure album all the way through, really enjoyed it. I'll be coming back for more. 8.2/10

Big Grams | Big Grams: So gooooooooood. Well, with the exception of the Skrillex song. 8.5/10

Flight Facilities | Down To Earth: MUH AESTHETIC 8.6/10

Fetty Wap | Fetty Wap: Sometimes fun > quality 7.8/10

Various Artists | The Lion King Soundtrack: Be Prepared is the best Disney song fite me irl. I can't rightly compare it to some of his other works because he only had 4 songs on here and it works more as a suite, but I think at the end of the day this is Hans Zimmer's best work.

Alice In Chains | Dirt: Why is this not a defener standard? 9.3/10

Ellie Goulding | On My Mind: Ok so this is a single, but I listened to it at least 6 times so I'm counting it. Ellie isn't a queen, she's a straight up goddess.

Yep, it's no secret that Harrison and Lynn were good friends as part of the Wilbury's and I guess Harrison played on the last ELO album in 01.

McCartney has said Lynn is the greatest song writer he's heard, but Lynn had a lot of inspiration from the Beatle's.

Purity Ring | Another Eternity: Before CHVRCHES, this was on top of my list for album of the year. I listened to this and Every Open Eye back to back to compare the two and see what I like from both albums better. What I love about Another Eternity is that the frosty instrumentals remain with just a little more range, and Megan James' lyrics are less nonsensical while her overall vocal performance is improved by leaps and bounds. She really showed that you don't need to turn in high notes that reach across scale in order to have an outstanding vocal performance. In fact, her being a little monotone in some songs (Repetition) brought out the emotion more than if she was trying to Mariah Carey her way through it. There was emotion, and she made me care about the emotion conveyed. 10/10

Fav Songs: Repetition, Stranger Than Earth, Dust Hymn

CHVRCHES | Every Open Eye: The second half of my experiment. Not sure if I like it as much as I liked TBOWYB, but that's like saying you're sad that Leonard Fournette only ran for 150 yards in a game. You can tell that Iain spent a lot of trying to make his vocals better and damn, did it pay off. And Lavren...yes queen. In TBOWYB she came off as a little meek and closed off, and while that has it's own merits, she really blossomed (like the album art!) here and is so much more confident which is so much fun to listen to. The instruments are great as always, I've yet to not dance when the solo on Clearest Blue comes on. I've sat back on this for a while and I think it's time to give this the perfect score 10/10

Purity Ring | Shrines: Been a while and I was in the mood after my experiment so I can back to this. I loved the instrumentals to death and I loved a lot of it, but the songs I didn't are hard for me to get behind. James' lyrics are a little too nonsensical for me at times, but more often than not Purity Ring hit a perfect chord with everything. I just think Purity Ring are at their best when they're playing a faster paced, dark, brooding song 8.5/10

Fav Songs: Amenamy, Belispeak, Obedear

Wavves | V: After their debut album turned sour on me, I decided to give their new project a listen and I'm glad I did I guess. Far from the end all be all, but I think it was strongly decent, if that's a thing. I appreciate that their songs are to the point with no overly drawn out segments but everything felt too...subdued, even for surf rock. I have yet to listen to their whole discog, but pair this production value with the spirit of the s/t debut and I think you have a winner. 6/10

Fav Songs: Pony, Redlead, Flamezesz

Flight Facilities | Down To Earth: Man, sometimes I get lost between realizing how underappreciated this album is and wishing there were 1-2 more songs as good as Clar De Lune or Crave You (my personal favorite "contemporary" song) are. Flight Facilities approached this with a concrete idea and they knocked it out the damn park, only the features let them down at times. But still, this is easily a 9/10

Streetlight Manifesto | 99 Songs Of Revolution: LSU's marching band plays "Hell" and that was stuck in my head, so I gave the ska-punk outfit a listen, and it was so fun. While the vocals and lyrics are a little corny and raw, the brass is brilliant and the guitar accents the songs perfectly. Far from my favorite, but there's some nice ditties here. 7.3/10

Fav Songs: Hell, Red Rubber Ball, Such Great Heights

Disclosure | Caracal: I don't think this is a "sophomore slump" as much as it is not being able to follow up something as crazy good as a debut as Settle was. There are three features on here that work well: The Weeknd on the opening track Nocturnal, which honestly sounds like the best song from Beauty Behind The Madness; Sam Smith with a blatant sequel to Latch's sound in Omen; and Lorde working her charm on Magnets. Everything else suffers from lackluster and frankly, uninteresting features. Disclosure themselves have the same sound as they did on Settle, but a huge part of their sound is their varying features, which just don't stack up. 7.2/10

Fav Songs: Nocturnal, Magnets, Jaded

Beirut | No No No: When I listen to this I just . Happy music for happy people, like Jimmy Buffett for those who feel too young to admit that they like Jimmy Buffett. Perfect for morning commutes. I've seen this ripped for it's length, but I think it's just fine the way it is, had it been longer than it would have ran the gamble of becoming too monotonous. 8.1/10

Fav Songs: Gibraltar, No No No, Perth

∆ | This Is All Yours: Ok, so this one was a victim of the sophomore slump. Went to slow and long well too many times when everybody who gets into alt-J gets hooked by their distinctive sound that features unique drum patterns and misty lyrics, not slow plucking at guitar strings and hums. Still, they're an incredibly talented band and make all that sound great. Sad I had to miss out on them in NOLA last week. **** you, midterms. 7.4/10

No time for writeups since I really need to get back to studying, but Marian Hill is a dope jazz-inspired duo who does does dope **** and you should be listening, TV Girl's French Exit is perfect, Toro y Moi is great no matter what sound he's chasing, the Cold War Kids have yet to make something as amazing as Robbers & Cowards and that's OK, and even though I'm liking the more pop, Mint Car/Wild Mood Swings version of the Cure, Seventeen Seconds is the right mix between jam and goth. Not a huge Chance The Rapper fan but Surf was enjoyable.
