Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

Netflix seems to not stream HD on my TV like it does on my 360 and PS3. Maybe I have a setting off or something but it looks like VHS quality. I tried District 9, Fifth Element, and Waterworld.

The PS3 does 1080p, all TV's don't have the hardware from what I was reading to stack up w/ PS3, 360 or Roku streaming Netflix.

Update: The worst image retention I have experienced in any way shape or form was from Madden 11. I literally played two plays on Defense and quit the game and the image at the bottom stayed for about 3 minutes.

        WTF?

Interesting, I played a game of Madden 11 earlier set at 6 minutes quarters and I had no IR at all. The IR, does it appear when viewing TV or playing a game or only on an input screen? Just watch some regular TV and it will go away.

I put in madden just for a 2nd to see it 2D to 3D would make a difference and it didn't so after two plays I went to the start-up screen on my PS3 and the image was there for a couple minutes.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

Yes 23 and I'm sure that's why the IR was so bad. I was lucky that I didn't play a whole game. I checked a few other places and found complaints from people who actually had burn-in because they didn't watch it closely so I'm lucky.

My T.V. is basically brand new so I'm trying to baby it. I just people checking out this thread might like to know that out of every game and movie I have tried, madden was the worst IR so far.

I have virtually no IR now
Sure right after I switch channels there's a small amount but within seconds it's gone.
I had roughly 150'ish burn in hours before using TV full tilt.

What is the difference between using the tv carefully for the first 150-200 hours and using the slide show for the first 200 hours?

The slides are better because it keeps the screen in uniform and advances the process

Watching tv regular is slower and does not advance the process with uniformaty

Yup, there are some guys I have read on AVS.......they will not watch the TV at all and run slides for 150-200 hours before doing anything with the set.

Wow. I just thought I was trying to avoid Burn-in. FML!

My manual doesn't mention any of this.

Your manual is hoping its television set will only last you a couple of years before having to buy a new one.
