I was just telling my wife, it's like my Panny BD-65 doesn't want anyone but my ONKYO 605. This is the 2nd receiver I've tried that won't hand shake with the Panny...

I'm so ready for a new receiver....
    Ever considered a Yamaha receiver?

The Yamaha RX-V673 7.2 AVR for $449 shipped

    http://store.audioholics.com/yamaha-rx-v673.html use code YAM673

Normally a $600 AVR. Might be worth a look.

EDIT: Looked up the specs on that Denon. It's a beast.

Would it be fixable with a remote? How much would Denon charge for a replacement?

I ended up getting a 39" Insignia TV for my bedroom (1080p 60hz LCD). Was only $350 (of course its on sale now for $300) and the cheapest of the options I was considering. Its not that bad. Really nice for a bedroom TV.

I almost got a Samsung Plasma but I just cant pull the trigger on a Plasma.

After talking to DENON Support the HDMI Hand shake issue is something that's not fixable. It's a crap shoot the tech said with Hand Shake issues via HDMI.

I want to keep it, but don't want to keep dealing with that issue. I'm just take it back & keep my eye out for another deal.

Passive tech uses the cheap glasses, like you get at the movie theater. Only gives you half of the 1080p resolution in both eyes. It's brighter and less flicker.

I wear prescription glasses, so I'd probably go with a passive 3D set if I was in the market. The glasses are much lighter to wear unless active 3D glasses have gotten much better.
My 3D TV uses passive and I prefer those to active. My friends TV has active and I find it annoying as they are bigger and you have to use a battery or charge them. Also they can be very expensive as only Sonys glasses work with Sony and if you have more then 2 people watching a movie it adds up compared to passive glasses which cost like $5 a pair and can be used on any TV.

How long ago did you buy it? Can't you get a price adjustment (without having to bring it in)?

Call 'em. IIRC it's 14 days on computers, but 30 days on everything else.

Ordered the 26" LG LCD for my bedroom Monday night. Using standard Amazon shipping, I got it yesterday. I love Amazon. The TV fits perfectly in my armoire. And the picture quality is on par with my 42" LCD.

Now comes the hard part, saying goodbye to my old Panasonic that I've had for 18 years. I've had it since college. I played Sega Genesis on that TV. Watched UT win a national championship on that TV.

Congrats man and welcome to the LG family. Couple years ago, I walked into Sears fully intending on buying another Panasonic plasma. The LG plasma sitting right next to it, playing the same material (Cars blu ray) looked as good and was $150 cheaper. I was sold.

My 32" 120hz 720p lcd LG died on me after 6 years a couple of weeks ago. So it was a perfect time to upgrade to a LG 108p 42" lcd with 120hz. It was $699 but was on sale for $599 and I am really happy with my purchase. Gaming mode really helps with my games which my previous tv didn't have. Lucky I bought it when I did as the sale ended the next day.

Slightly off topic, but the $40 (after rebate) Vizio sound bar (refurb) is back. Purchase from Tiger Direct has to be made by 8/18. Walmart sells this new for $98+ tax.

Very noticeable upgrade to tv speakers if you don't want to run a full 5.1 or 7.1 setup.

I got one last time it was offered and have been quite impressed, especially when connected to a powered sub.

I've never had any kind of sound set up, is this easy to set up? Wires come with?
